Question about Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Upgrade: Windows

1 Answer

After running Microsoft clean-up utility, my 2007 Outlook failed saying I needed to reinstall. I did not have my original installation key and so used the "Keyfinder" program to locate my installation key which was P9PRT-B2D9D-3D2YJ-VM834-TKPMW. I then proceeded with the reinstall and got a "green check-mark" with the above key. The system then called for a qualifying program and so I inserted my Office 2003 Professional CD in the DVD drive. The error message was to the effect that no qualifying product was found. I then did a minimal installation of the Office 2003 professional and then rebooted. I loaded the 2007 installation CD and used the same key as above. "Green checkmark" again. Then the system again said "could not find qualifying program ...." when Office 2003 Professional had been installed and was running on my HP a600N tower running Vista Premium.

Was it this article that led you to rename extend.dat? Did you do the registry updates, too?http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=204951
When uninstalling 2003 may have been better if you used windows installer cleanup utility as an uninstall of 2003 still leave behind registry entries.
Uinstall Office again using the cleanup utility, and reinstall.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
But first try to restore pst file using Recovery Toolbox for Outlook
and keep it. https://outlook.recoverytoolbox.com/
