Question about InFocus LP 130 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Blue screen or startup only

Infocus lp130 has 335 hours, the computer recognizes that the projector is connected, but no picture is projected other than the startup infocus screen the on screen keeps flashing through the available inputs, even though there is only one M1 plug on the back of the projector.

Auto-Source is enabled in projector menu and 2nd monitor in laptop to send display signal to projector.

origional cables were lost replaced with CablesToGo CTG #38049 EVC Male to VGA Male analog computer cable to hook with computer/ laptop.

Please check cable to any other projector that has DV1 input socket.

I have also tried to get a picture with a M1 to rca compoent video cable connected to a dvd player, again nothing registers and the searching for source continues to cycle.

I do not have a source with the DV1 plug available, but have used a DV1 to VGA converter on the end of that cable with the same results, no picture.

  • huertasp Jun 27, 2009

is there another way to test the brand new cables? I do not have a second projector that has the M1 connectors.

I find it hard to believe that three different brand new cables designed to work with this projector would fail to show any results.

Is it possable that the circuit inside is the problem? If so how can it be checked, either by me or is there a repair service available?

I was really hoping for more than plug it in and wiggle the wires.

Like confirming that the cables were in fact compatable with the projector by reference material you had available, technical information i would not have access to , or just previous experience.

Hi,
Please enable Auto-Source in projector menu and enable 2nd monitor in laptop to send display signal to projector.
Are you using analog computer cable that is supplied with projector to hook with computer/ laptop.
Let me know further query.

If projector was working fine with original cable and new cable is hooked first time then seems cable is no compatible / good for projector.
Please check cable to any other projector that has DV1 input socket.
You can confirm projector with composite video input source like dvd player.
    Thanks.

Well if projector keep searching source signal that is normal as auto-source is enabled, if its disabled, projector will not search for signal and stays on that source that is set on it.

I do see problem with your new cable, is it first time that cable is being hooked between projector and computer? if yes, please test that connecting DV1/VGA cable on any other projector.

Three different brands cables? I thought you have only one cable to hook with computer.
Please check projector with any other computer, that will split problem and will confirm that either projector has circuit problem or computer is not providing display signal.
If problem confirms in projector circuit then its job of qualified tech to fix it. I would recommend to send projector in service center.
    Thanks.

Can hear sound but cannot see picture

Hi, if your LCD projector turns on and projects light with sound but not the picture on your computer screen, first make sure the projector is plugged into your computer. If it is, check your computer display settings. Go to "Control Panel" and "Settings" or "Windows Setup." Select "Display." Make sure it's set to appear on your laptop screen and the the projector screen. Most laptops have a "Fn" key dedicated to changing the output display setting.

If your projector turns on but emits no light or picture, replace the projector's bulb, often called the lamp. Most have a life of between 2,000 and 6,000 hours. Your projector may warn you when the lamp life is about to expire, although some models simply stop working when the lamp needs replacing.

Thank you.

My dell d630 laptop wont recognize my infocus lp70+ remote control and I can't advance my powerpoint slides with the remote control

Here's what the User's Manual says:

Using the Remote Control

To advance PowerPoint slides with the projector's remote, you

must connect the USB cable on the projector's computer cable to

the computer. See page 8 for more information.

Point the remote control at the projection screen or at the front or

rear of the projector (not at the computer). The range for optimum

operation is about 30 feet. If you point the remote at the

projection screen, the distance to the screen and back to the projector

must be less than or equal to 30 feet. For best results, point

the remote directly at the projector.

If you are displaying presentations in Microsoft® PowerPoint®,

you can use the remote's Previous and Next buttons to navigate

through your presentation while in Slide Show mode.

most likely it is your cable. If a for sure brand new cable doesn't fix it it is most likely the main board. Also try flashing the software again.

Try using a different cable.

If the response is the same on a different cable , then the Mainboard might be at fault - this machine should still be under warranty and the warranty will cover repairs.
