I have had this before, try blowing on the male (controller) and female (console) inputs, try to make sure it is pluged in all the way, if not your controller ports died.

Dear kakaixero,
The USB port on your XBOX may have experienced short circuit when your dogs ran over it. Just to make sure, try connecting some other device (such as the racing wheel) and see if it works. If it doesn't,take your XBOX to the nearest service point and ask them to replace it. Act like it's not your fault and you might actually get a new xbox!

The TV stopped responding to the remote control

tried with reset doesn't work, ok it could be the IR sensor at the front panel of the tv doesn't work. but before you replace it you need to ensure if your remote controller is working. have you tried to check the remote with camera trick just to know if the remote controller is sending light to the IR sensor of the tv.

2 Button On Wii Remote Doesn't Work

Have you tried washing the button out with regular rubbing alcohol then let it dry overnight. this should do it, if it don't you will need to take the controller apart to clean the contactor more thoroughlly.

SYSTEM DOESN'T RECOGNIZE CONTROLS HOW DO I FIX

I'm guessing the issue is that the PS3 isn't responding to your controller input.

Ensure that the PS3 controller is actually on. You can turn on the controller by pressing the Playstation button in the center of the controller. There will be a red light on top of the controller indicating that it is on.

If no light shows up, it's possible that the controller simply has dead batteries. Grab your controller charge cable (should have been included with controller, looks like this) and connect the controller to the PS3 while the console is on. Give it a few minutes, then press the center Playstation button again and see if it responds.

It's also possible that the controller just isn't synced to your PS3. Again, grab the charge cable and connect it to your PS3 while it's on. Then press the Playstation button while the controller is connected. It should sync it to the PS3.

If none of that is working for you, there may be an issue with the controller itself. The easiest fix it to reset the controller. There should be a tiny button in a hole on the back of the controller. Just press it (you'll need a paperclip or something to do it) and the controller will reset. I believe you'll have to re-sync the controller (using the cable again).

You should also try syncing other controllers to your PS3 to make sure that the issue isn't with the PS3 itself (which would be awful; I've never heard a PS3 breaking like that but I suppose there is always a first). If other controllers work then either your controller's battery is dead or the controller is actually broken. I don't think Sony repairs/replaces controllers so you may have to buy a new one.

It may be worthwhile to checkout their support page first, to see if anything helps before shelling out 50$ for a controller:

Sony Support
Sony Repair
Amazon - PS3 Controllers (I recommend Silver; it's ****).

Hope it all works out!

I have 3 controllers for my mega drive, ive tried them all and have the same problem with each of them........just the 'up' button doesn't work ??? please help me.

This could be a simple fix to a more dire repair.

You could open a controller to see if the inside is dirty. There are silicon connectors that are on the boards that could be dingy. If they are, just clean them off with a dry paper towel.

If you plug the controller back in and the up is still not responding it may be an internal issue. You could open the system and follow the pin for the direction and see if it is broken.

Here is a direct link to a site dedicated to the pinouts on game systems.

Dear Jereed7,

Have you tried to change the batteries of the controller?
When you haven't used it for two years, then i would try that in the first place.

I hope I helped you with your problem.

In resort golf game, controller sometimes does not respond when on screen says to press "B" . just beeps repeatedly .is this software related or hardware ? sometimes after multiple tries it responds.

This sounds like your controller had turned off then turned back on. The beeping sound occurs when your controller is connecting. As a test, try playing some other game and push B. Does it respond?? Does this happen with any other button? And is this the only controller with this problem??

The easiest problem to fix would be low batteries. First try this, then do the steps above and tell me what happened.
