No i wouldn't say that, at least it was worth a try. Just can't understand why it worked at first and now won't power up. as i said the fan is running just no lamp?

Thanks for your help, I di check the door switch and it appears to be working fine. I think it may be the ballast? again thanks for your help and i was not being critical of your help tip i just responded to the question.

Please check lamp door that seems not fixed / seated properly. Lamp door / cover push a safety switch that is not being pressed and causing no power up of TV.

TV would not say to check its lamp cover.
You just replaced lamp and obviously lamp cover was removed. I already explained it to you that there is safety switch that is pressed by lamp cover. Check lamp cover again instead of rating me Not-Helpful.

My Sanyo tv is not working. The power light comes on and then starts blinking red.

I myself had a 55 inch hdtv ready projection tv and the lamp went out in it. It cost me $104.00 plus shipping to replace it. Check out discount replacement parts but remember that if it is a projection tv, it won't last but approximately two years and you will have to do it again.

Color Wheel could cause this, it must spin exactly 9,000 rpm per second ,but so can having a bad ballast board it is what powers Lamp on, If you still have the old Lamp and your sure the Lamp was Bad then reinstall old lamp and see if their is an ark coming from Spark Gap on the Ballast Board,
If you see an ark then Ballast is OK.Heres another thing watch the Lamp Fan if it is defective Lamp will not power on, If the Lamp Fan stops when Lamp trys to firer, then replace the lamp Fan.

the high-pitched sound is the colorwheel trying to spin up to speed. that may need to be replaced. check the inside of the lamp for bulges, black spots, fogging or flaking. if it has any of those, replace the lamp. you can get parts from an infocus service center or send it to them for repair. either way, try www.avsolutionsny.com they're really good. if you want to replace it yourself, there is a detailed step-by-step on my "tips" area. it's the same as the infocus x1, x2, x3 and sp4805. click on my picture and scroll down to tips. good luck!

I had the same issue, what I figured out was that I never removed the lamp door correctly, causing a small plastic piece to break off. To see if this is also your problem, inspect the back of the lamp door, top right corner, if it seems a rectangular plastic piece is missing, thats the problem. It presses in a small button nearby the lamp to let the projector know it's safe to power on.
