I purchased a new original remote because I lost the original but this will not even turn the tv on

They are called capacitors. You have to unsolder the bad ones, and solder the new ones back in.I bought mine off Ebay.Radio Shack has some, but they didn't have the ones I needed, and they are more expensive. Here is the link to the ones that I bought. You will have to look at the ones that are bad in your TV to find out the size you need. You should try to get it as close as you can to the original ones. You can get one with a higher value on both specs, but not lower. For example,if there is a 10V 1000UF,and a 16V 1000 UF,you can replace them both with 16V 1000UF,and it will work perfect. You can also use different heights as well,as long as there is enough room.If you don't feel like you can fix it,and are willing to pay the shipping both ways for either the whole TV,or just the power board, which would be less expensive to ship,I will fix it for $25.I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please let me know.Thank You very much!
