Xbox original red light

If you're talking about a "red ring" then the xbox is shot. It is caused from a little plate that overheats and breaks off. Call the company and tell them, I've heard of people getting brand new replacements.

How can I flash my xbox 360? it wont recognize the new dvd rom drive.

Disconnect all cables from the Xbox 360 and remove the faceplate from the front of the console. Lift the plastic tabs on the outer shell and remove the plastic casing from the machine. Unscrew the Torx size 7 screws and lift open the metal cover. Unplug both the power and SATA cables from the rear of the DVD drive and lift it out of the console. Replace it with the new DVD drive, and connect the power cable to the unit. Connect your SATA cable to the DVD drive and a free SATA port on your computer.Turn on your computer and open a web browser. Download JungleFlasher and run the program. As of September 2010, JungleFlasher is the most stable and up-to-date flashing program for Xbox 360, and it is also the only program capable of flashing Xbox 360 drives from within Windows (earlier programs used MS-DOS). Click "Flash .BIN to DVD" in the program's main menu and select your Xbox 360's DVD drive. The program will flash the new DVD drive for use with your Xbox 360 console.Turn off the computer once the flashing process is complete and disconnect your SATA cable from the DVD drive and your PC. Reconnect the Xbox 360 SATA cable to the new DVD drive, then close the metal cover on the console. Rescrew the Torx size 7 screws and replace the outer plastic shell on the Xbox 360. Return the faceplate to its original position then reconnect all external cables and accessories to the console. Power on the Xbox 360 and the replacement DVD drive will function normally.

I am trying to hook my 360 to the wireless internet in my house using a belkin brand wifi antenna hooked into the usb port on my xbox can you help or is this even possible?

I'm not sure if it will work, but if it will, here's the link to configure up your Xbox for wireless.
http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/xboxlive/getconnected/hcxl/configwirelessnxe.aspx
The Xbox brand adapter works basically the same, so I don't see why it wouldn't work, unless Microsoft specifically took measures to prevent this. You may also have some security settings on your router that are preventing connection. I personally prefer to connect via Ethernet cable to reduce lag potential, but, to each their own.

Testing shows connections good sometimes and not others. Even when connections are good, it takes awhile to sign in, and often I get stuck looking for a game to join and never get in. I have two XBoxes...

Have you tried swapping them in both locations? Does your problem xbox still have problems from the further location? Are you using a wireless router or is it hard wired? If its hard wired, try changing ports that you're plugged into. Could be a bad ethernet cord. How old is your router? Dooes the problem xbox work if its the only xbox connected and running? Or is it only when they are both connected?

The x4 wants me to run the digital audio through the component cable of my xbox but i am using an hdmi cable, what gives? the picture and audio r better with hdmi, can i run the thr ir transmiter through...

If your TV has a Toslink optical digital output, then you can run that to the digital input on the X4. That would probably work best.
Also, Microsoft sells an "audio cable" with their HDMI Cable set. http://www.xbox.com/en-IE/hardware/x/xbox360hdmiavcable/
That connects to the A/V port, right under the HDMI port on the Xbox rear panel. You can get that cable for less than the Microsoft price. Use Google to search for "Xbox hdmi audio cable" or "Xbox audio dongle".

When i swtich on my 360 i get no pic or sound but no red lights

Since you already tried those steps and you mentioned that its a brand new cable that means that the AV PORT / Video card of your xbox is faulty.

Call xbox customer support to have your xbox serviced. Good Luck! hope your console still has warranty

4 flashing red lights

  1. Make sure that the AV cable is correctly connected to the Xbox 360 console.
  2. Disconnect the AV cable from the Xbox 360 console, and then reconnect the AV cable to the Xbox 360 console.
  3. If the four flashing red lights continue to flash, try wiping the metal area of the AV pack with a dry cloth. The metal area is the end that plugs into the console. Wipe the metal area thoroughly, and then try the AV Pack again.
  4. If the AV cable is correctly connected but the four red lights are still flashing, substitute a different AV cable if you have one available.

Hi, I hope something from below is useful to you...

Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 are flashing red
- The AV cable cannot be detected
