On your computer locate your printer in control panel.
Right click on your printer and select printer preferences.
You should find maintenance and try printing a nozzle test.
If you have blank areas I suggest a head clean or two.
NEVER do more than 3 in a row!
You may damage your print head.
If more is required, wait 5-10 mins after doing 3 cleans.
You may overheat your print head as it heats the head while performing a clean to try and clear blockages.
Some head sprayer is clog. Check nozzle? Do head cleaning. Check again. If nozzle output is not badly, you can print with photo quality for good output.
Do you have the owners manual? Did you cancel the document from the computer and turn the printer off for at least 30 secs. The speckled print and lines are usually caused by a defective toner or worn drum. Usually a drum will last for 10 thousand or more cycles. But sometimes prematurely wear out. Make sure you are absolutely using a genuine Brother OEM supply. Generics have a high failure rate. This is not a heavy duty printer. When you need a drum and toner together, it will be just as cheap to buy another low end Brother printer.
