I have the same problem. I can read/see the drive with my old computer but not the new one. I believe it's because the drivers for this are not current. Toshiba doesn't seem to have/provide current drivers for Win8. The drive has drivers for Vista and 7, but not 8. Does anyone know whether there are Win 8 drivers? Hard to believe Toshiba wouldn't provide that since 8 was out only a year after this drive was made.
I researched your question and here is the link to download the drivers and software you need either click the link or copy and paste it into your web browser:
My suggestion is download the software first and install it on your computer, it may prompt you at some point to plug in your webcam during the install but don't
plug into your computer until the software prompts you or until the
software installs other wise your computer will not recognize it
correctly. Once the software installs (if it doesn't prompt
you to plug it in) then plug it in. A window will pop up that new
drivers or a device is being installed. Once this completes reboot
(restart) your computer and you are now ready to use your web cam.
I hope this helps you out if it does please leave me some positive feedback.
www.divx.com download current drivers and software. also you need to see the format that the movies were downloaded. to find out right click on a movie file and click properties you will see which is the format.
