Question about Sony CDX-FW570 CD Player
Sometimes it'll play them and sometimes it won't, just depends on its mood I guess, hehe.
What's the problem and how to fix?
Dirty laser lens or laser going weak and more power is needed. First try one of thse cleaning CDs, then if you feel confident taking it apart, you will find a small potentiometer. Turn it to the right until it reads about 700 ohms.
If you don't have a multimeter turn the pot to the right in *very* small steps checking every time if reading has improved, however a cheap digital meter is just $10, there's no reason not to get one.
