Question about Panasonic KX-T7433B Corded Phone

1 Answer

Need to change company greeting and messages within it.

I need to record a new company greeting. (Currently, calls go to the phone and if no one picks up, it will go to the company greeting, not the voicemail. I would like to keep it this way, since right now pressing 2 allows you to leave a voicemail message). I cannot find the information for how to change this initial message or any of the messages attached to it (for example, currently it says to press 3 for directions, but the directions are wrong and I would like to be able to change that as well).

Start by walking to the "back room" and finding model numbers on the phone system and the voice mail. Take notes, because you'll be needing either software and a USB cable, or Hyperterm and a serial cable to get into the voice mail.

Hi there, my business uses Panasonic KX-T7431 Digital Super Hybrid System and we have several lines. when nobody is available to take the call it goes directly to a company message stating are names...

The introduction message is usually setup as a custom service menu. You need to determine if this is the case by logging into the message managers mailbox and listening to find the current greeting. To log into the message manager mailbox, call voicemail, dial #6 then *98(for 2 digit mailboxes) or *998(for 3 digit mailboxes) or *9998(for 4 digit mailboxes), enter password followed by #. Once in the message managers mailbox, press 5 to record messages. Your introduction message could be the company greeting or a custom service menu. Press 1 for the company greeting and follow the prompts to listen to the greeting. Press 3 for the custom service menu, then enter the custom service number 1-100( in your case start with 1 until you find the current introduction message) and follow the prompts to listen to the message. Once you have found the current introduction message record your new message and save.

Wrong closed message

Sounds like you have a complete recording in the company greeting and another complete recording in the CCR tree. The scenario you described is exactly what happens when you have recorded the entire greeting under company greeting and the CCR tree greeting. A quick solution is to record 1 or 2 seconds of silence in either the company greeting or the CCR tree greeting. Do you know where or how the last greeting was recorded? If you do I would reord the silence in that place.

CHANGE RECORDED MESSAGE

To change the greeting you need to either pick up the phone or press speaker phone then dial *38 then 1 then you will hear a beep/call tone. When you hear that tone record your message/greeting. Once you are finished press the auto dial/store button. If your are satisfied with that message hang up or press speaker phone again to end the call. If you would like to clear the message, then right after you hit auto dial/store you will hear a beep/call tone press 0 to clear or 1 to rerecord.
