Try a Company called RH Nuttall Limited - they manufacture leather washers. They have a website and I think make them to the size you need. I heard they were really nice people

They wear out, and you'll need a trip to an older long established bike shop to get a new one Brands like Silca still do leather washers, but it's all plastic and rubber o-rings these dyas!

You can also try soaking it in water to swell it, but usually when they've had it, well they've had it.

The chem venturi relys on low pressure to function this is specifically the blue nozzles job, to create a low pressure for the venturi to work.
otherwise you will be wasting chemical the entire time you are using the cleaner.

Lid does not seal---very loose

If sprayer doesnt seal against pressure, I suggest check cover gasket A (image 1). Check pump cylinder gasket B (image 2) and additionally, check the procedure if pump dont build pressure. on how to remoce pump cylinder on follow lines.

If pump doesnt build pressure... in most instances, failure of the pumo to build air pressure in the sprayer is due to dry or worm plunger cul leather. To work on cup leather, always remove plunger from pumo cylinder. Do not attempt to oil cup leather through breather hole in **** cap.

First, unthread pumo cap A (image 1). If cap is too tight, and if pumo will build even slight temporary pressure, pressurizing the tnak will make it easier to loosen cap. Once cap is lossened, release tank pressure. Hold pump cylinder by inserting hand through tank filler openning (image 2), and unscrew cap all the way. Pull plunger from cylinder, and remove cylinder from inside the tank.

Place a few drops of clea oil (not heavier than SAE 30) on leather, and massage into leather until it is soft. Replace plunger cup leather if damaged (image 3). to remove plunger leather assembly, use coin rather than screw driver in the slot of the plunger cup retainer. To reassemble, hold pump cylinder in tank openning, with squared edge of flange, at top of cylinder, toward tank wall.

Hope this helps to solve it.

I have a schwinn steel floor bicycle pump with a guage Do I need to periodically oil it so it wont lose pressure while pumping up tires or a ball?

Hi sixgnsannie1
I will answer yes on the use of oil to act as a sealant so the bike pump will not loose pressure while filling your tires or balls.
Just a small amount will do it, do not over oil.
Please take time to rate me

Sta Rite Punp #DHJ-170 suddenly has low, cycling pressure after 3 years seasonal operation

Hello, W/D here, at your service.
There are a couple of things that can cause a low cycling pressure as you described.
First, check the tank. Look for a schrader (bicycle type) valve on the top of the tank. Check the pressure. Normally, there is a sticker denoting the proper pressure of the bladder in the tank with no water in the tank. Mine calls for 29 psig. If yours is low, air it back up to the proper pressure and re-test the flow.
Next, if the first check didn't do the trick, is to determine if there is a leak in the well. Operate the pump up to its normal kick-out pressure and turn it off. Close the discharge valve, and watch the pressure gauge. If the pressure falls, the cause of the cycling is probably the seal in the well. You didn't indicate if your's is a shallow or deep well, but repairs are similar. These pumps are also used in pool service for circulation, but this doesn't sound like your use. If yours is in a well type water service, and the pressure falls as described, you will need to pull the inner piping and replace the leathers, as water is escaping back down the well. It has been my experience that it is better to replace the foot valve, jet and leathers all at the same time, rather than to replace the leathers alone. Find a reputable well supply company, and take your parts with you. My local company will put everything together for me, if I buy the parts, of course. If your pump is in drinking water service, disinfect before re-assemble according to local regulations. Your local well supply can advise, and it is usually a simple and inexpensive task. Whilst purchasing parts, be sure to purchase the gaskets that you will need for re-assembly. The pump gasket and the well head gaskets are most common. I keep spares of most of these parts, as my pump seems to always break on Sunday morning, or late Saturday night!
Anyway, try these things, and see if it doesn't get you back up and running. Best of luck.
Best regards, --W/D--

No pressure showing as jet pump runs

Correct. Either the foot valve, jet valve or leathers. If you pull the well, replace them all, and double the leathers.

Pressure washer stalls out when wand nozzle is released

common for not starting unless trigger engaged as you are turning the pump as well as engine creating pressure,as for stalling pump has unloader valve which is probably in need of grease(use good silicone grease)this allows water to ciculate when trigger released.
