I have a two year old high def LG Plasma TV Model 42PC3d. It started suddenly giving a fuzzy flickering picture but after about 15 minutes the picture would clear up on its own. However the problem worsened and now all I get is a black screen. Sound is OK. Fuses are OK. The problem is NOT with the input but with the TV since the problem persists regardless of the input (antenna or satellite). Can you come up with any solutions?

It could be any of 4 boards, either take it in for service or get a new set.

I think you have a defective power board. the pop sound in coming from the board and giving you a low output voltage. do it yourself price about two hundred for parts.

You probaly have a bad y or z sustain board

well it looks to me u need a new tv....all the details u give are pointing that ur picture tube is gone.....but call LG help and costumer line and ask them......u may get away from it to get a new tv
make sure when u get a new plasma to extend ur warren tie to a max o 3 to 5 years and if this would happend u get it repaires for free.......cost for a new screen app 1000 to 1500 dollars

Same problem...not solutions so far from what i can see. just a popping type sound...picture GONE...sound still there....had it for 2 years and 3 months....warrenty was for 2 years...eh hem...it figures.

Our 42" LG picture is also split down the middle. It doesn't matter if it is cable or a DVD. I would love to know if anyone has found out the solution to this prob. The TV is only 3 years old...
