Question about NAD C372 Amplifier

NAD 302 PHONO STAGE

Hi everybody. I have a NAD 302 (not a 3020) amplifier which has a slight problem and I'm hoping somebody will be able to help. My record deck is connected to the phono inputs on the amp; the problem is that the right channel output goes silent - this can happen when it has just been switched on, or it works ok for a while then goes silent - sometimes switching the power off then back on brings the right channel back on but only for a short time. This never happens when any other source is selected - it only happens when I have selected phono input. So I'm guessing that the problem is in the phono stage ? or somewhere else within the amp ? any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Reverse your RCA input around and see if the problem follows, this will determine if the problem is in the turntable output signal or the preampsection of your amp. If it stays on the same channel, slightly move the RCA that's dropping out signal around. If the signal cuts in and out, you know it's just a weak solder joint on the input rca of the amp. If it does not change, your problem is deeper. Chances are it's a "cold solder joint" on the input section of the amp and would only be a labor type repair and no parts involved. That can be a double edged sword as well depending on how long it takes to find it. If you have to have it serviced, find a local shop that's been around a while, they are likely to be a little more insightful as to the exact problem quicker. Hope this helps

My NAD C320 outputs a very low sound volume

Hi there I have a C340 that has similar problem, you must have bought this from ebay, lol.

Nad made a mistake on the C range, the pre - power link can be shorted out. if the pre is shorted out it takes out the pre amplifier stage, I have managed to get the right channel working, I will keep you informed what is the cause of the left channel. I have replaced the pre-amp IC and a couple of Jfets and transistors. Once I have repaired the Amp I could repaire yours if you like???

Record player does not work

Hi, I don't think the amplifier has a mm/mc phono stage, I think it's an optional item.

You can buy one pretty cheap.
If you need more help , please ask

Need user manual for setup of the amplifier.

It should say next to the speaker terminals what impedance of speaker the amplifier is rated for. You can drive any speaker within reason with just about any amplifier as long as you are not trying to attain loud levels. Here is a link to the service manual for your amplfier. It states in the schematic power ratings for 2,4, and 8 ohm speakers so you can assume that this amplifier is compatible with those impedance speakers. NAD is generally known for their beefy amplifier sections. http://www.scribd.com/doc/7234868/NAD-3020-Service-Manual

Denon 2802 amp

Dear Armani,

You cannot put de leads from an MP3 player or your TV into the pre-amplified connection of your Denon,
the phono "stage" is a low input stage, your input from MP3, TV, CD, DVD oscasetteplayer is high output (a 5 to 10 times stronger signal)
Try every other stage like tape 1 or 2, this will work just fine,

succes

Phono stage

Hi. The phono input of your STRBD930 has a pre amplifier on it, and as such should only be connected to a dynamic phono cartridge. This is one which has a moving coil or magnet, as opposed to a piezzo cartridge. Connecting a piezzo turn table to the phono input will provide a too-higher voltage input for the pre amp, which might damage the pre amp. I hope this helps. PS moving magnet and moving coil are same difference. These are both dynamic cartridges, and can be connected to STRDB930.

Connect turntable to NAD S300

Yes you will need a pre-amp for your turntable, there is no phono input on this amplifier. Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!
