What operating system are you using? It sounds like you need to install another sound card. Dont worry its not too hard.

All things are connected but got no soud.

First question, are all the volume controls turned up, hardware and Windows. Next, hook up the speakers to a CD player, ipod, etc and make sure they work. If they don't, contact the tech support for Bose at 1-800-999-2673.
If they do work, then it might be an issue with your sound card. Check for updates and run Windows updates. Also, plug in some different speakers and see if they work, if they don't it's an issue with your sound card.

Want to connect JBL platunum series speakers to Dell Inspiron 560 with Windows 7. There is no sound coming from theses speakers on this system. They worked with HP compac.

Hello there,

here is the sound card for the DELL
Sound Card Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio up to Creative SoundBlaster® X-Fi Xtreme Audio (D)†

that means you have a sound card and the port should be in the back and should be green.

Audio front panel - one headphone and one
microphone connector

This is for a headset .

Here is what i would try make sure the speakers are powering by turning on the right speaker the LED should light up if it is then it has power, Next i would try the back of the PC speaker port , if you have everything connected correctly we move onto the next step.

Ok go to
Control panel
Hardware and sound
then click on the green sound link that should pop up a window to configure the speakers, you should see the devices in the list and be able to configure them if you do not let me know and i can help you with the next step.

No sound coming through the hp monitor. What could the problem be. Perhaps I didn't connect it correctly

I don't know your model but speaking general you have to connect with a cable (both ends male 3.5mm stereo jack) the green female jack at the audio module at the tower (usually marked as audio out) with the green female jack at the monitor (usually marked as audio in) or at the speakers.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

I hooked up the speakers to my computer and no sound comes out of the speakers

Hi,
I don't know what is the operating system you are using with your computer.Still we can check, first we need to find out if the problem is with the speaker or with the computer.

Try these steps
  • connect those speakers with other computer check the sound, if you are getting sound there it means speakers are ok need to check computer audio setup and hardware.
  • If you are not getting any sound connecting speakers with other computer then it is speakers need to replace.

Incase speakers are ok Disconnect the speakers

  • restart the computer, check if there is windows sound if not
  • right click on the volume control icon on the left hand button corner of the screen, uncheck the mute option.still not getting any sound?
  • try to download the audio driver from the dell support site.still not getting
  • need to check the internal speaker connection,if it is fine
  • go to this website http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and click on Restore sound -windows Audio service and run the tweak,YOU NEED TO USE INTERNET EXPLORER
  • still you cannot hear the sound change the internal speaker.
Even you can check the link for your speaker set up- http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/2593588231.pdf

No sound from speaker

Basic:

  • Have you checked your taskbar for the volume?
  • Are your speakers connected to the right port?
  • Are your speakers connected to the wall outlet?
  • Have you checked your drivers for the sound chip?
Right Click "My Computer", click "Properties"
Click the "Hardware" tab, click "Device Manager"
d29e514.jpg
Look for any devices that have an "X" (the one next to the ASIX) or an exclamation point "!" (next to the Motorola).
Note: These are just examples.

If you do, post the name of it here.
If not, you're ok.
  • Next, do you have speakers connected to any ports?
The port for speakers is usually green or black. The red is commonly used for microphones.

Thats all I can help you with the info. Please state more information like the model or if this happens when you do something specific.

No sound coming from speakers

most likely cause is not the speakers, much more likely there is no driver/or corrupt driver for the computers soundcard.look at add remove hardware in control panel, and try to re-install software from your windows disc,or the audio driver disc you got with the pc.no driver present shows as a yellow question mark next to the item which is non-functional.you should, upon not having the software,be able to download the driver from the manufacturers website, free of charge.hope this helps somewhat, steve.
