Hold down (Fn) key and press, press, press.... right arrow (----->) the right most key on your keyboard until back light brightens. If you press several time it also goes off. Just press again until brightens.
Have fun

Sorry mate I thought you asked backlight of the keyboard. You should go to LCD repair shop. Maybe your monitor back lit has worn out.

SOURCE: Height adjust for Dell UltraSharp 1907FP 19" LCD Monitor

Is it stuck, or just not adjustable? Try setting it on a phonebook. I'm kidding. If it is an adjustable base, sometimes they need a little downward pressure before the button will depress and allow it to move upward.

Thanks,
Chris

SOURCE: dell 19" monitor screen turns blank

i had same problem, fault was traced using a multimeter set to diode measurement, i found that one of the high power switch transistors in the inverter side of the power board was short circuit (there are four in the same area sticking up from the board, not surface mounted). normally they should measure 450 ish but when they read 0-010 its gone, pulled it out of circuit and remeasured it, gone, replaced and fixed.

SOURCE: Hi Team, I have Dell Ultra Sharp Monitor which

If you are not an electronics tech It would be remiss to advise you to interfere with a high tension device like a monitor. take it to where it can be serviced and keep your life. Only experienced people should open up a monitor and poke around 22000 volts is involved here and if its overheating the wiring on th ecoilod ids breaking doen or has broken down.

My dell ultra sharp 1702 monitor blinks for quite awhile before starting up when I turn it on...?

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed Dell monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

My new Dell flat screen monitor is blank and posting a message - entering power save mode- ... when I restart it briefly displays the Dell logo and other normal display at normal startup then switches to...

You'll need to troubleshoot a little. SOmething may be broken, but you'll need to find out what. 1: Try the monitor on another computer, see wether it will work on that one. If it doesn't, the monitor's broken and you're probably going to need a new one. 2: If the monitor does work, put it back, but now use another cable to connect it to the PC. If that fixes it, your cable was broken. 3: If not, you could try to switch the graphics card in the PC with another one. Do not attempt that, however, unless you know what you're doing. If you don't, get someone you know to do it for you, or take it to a computer shop. If the PC will boot with another graphics card, the old one is broken. 4: If not, it may be your motherboard that's broken. Repeat step 3 with it. These steps should fix your problem. If not, please post back here. Regards, Yannick.

Dell 991 monitor

On the front of the monitor is a menu button. Press it, and using the left and right buttons on the monitor navigate through the menus until you see brightness, contrast, etc. Then adjust them as necessary.
