Compressor problems when filling tank

There should be a device called an "unloader " connected to the machines own switch. This releases the pressure from the compressor so it can start up without the resistance of the pressure in the tank. There should be a hissing noise when the machine stops, the sound of the air on the compressor side of a non return valve being released.

I bought a HS5180 air compressor from WW Grainger. I lost the manual, and directions to install. Can you please email them to me? Thanks Jeff

Jeff, you can go to the Campbell Hausfield website, and download all of that. You can save it as a PDF file, and just print it yourself.

Wanting to adjust my cut off pressure down...its at 135 now but have in line tank, campbell switch 60 gallon

If I read your problem you would like to decrease your pressure setting on a campbell hausfield compressor, this usually can be done by turning the 3/8" nut (typical) counter clockwise which decreases the spring tension on the pressure plate allowing less pressure to break the points. Hope This Helps Don

Air compressor not working, campbell, hausfield turns on but doesn't make loud noise it used to seems like it is not kicking in. It just sounds like a loud vacuum cleaner. Campbell Hausfeld WL6501 13...

If your motor is running and not the pump, the malfunction is either in the pump or the coupling between the motor and the pump.

Some of these compressors are manufactured so cheap now that there can be just a set screw that is loose and the motor shaft is spinning free inside of the crankshaft.

If you drain the oil out of the pump and take off the pump crankcase cover, you should be able to see the problem.

No air pressure past 60PSI on a 125PSI Campbell Hausfield WL61110

Your comperssor is oilless type and suffers from short cylinder / piston life. When the compressor no longer reaches cycle pressure the cylinder / piston should be replaced. These parts are available at www.chpower.com I believe that the part number is wl210300aj. Not expensive, enjoy.
