Had 1 cup coffee still heating in the pot, then heard spattering sounds and a burning smell. Turned it off.In making next pot, beans grind but won't make coffee. Water just sits in the reservoir.

Possible the "spattering sounds" you heard were in fact wires shorting out, which coincides with the burnt smell. You didn't mention the model of coffee maker. But if you can, unplug and disassemble to check. Or if under warranty, send in for repair or replacement. In any case unplug from wall to be safe.

The plug and wire near the plug on my Rowenta iron gets very hot when I use it

The plug is not making proper contact in the wall socket. Clean the pins with steel wool or pot scourer. Do not use water. If you are using a double adapter remove it as it could be the cause of the poor contact. If the problem persist, try a different wall socket and get a qualified person to fix the faulty wall socket.

Hi there, i have a problem with my Oscar coffe machine. Is not creating enough pressure at the coffee pot part but highr pressure valve pops out after 10-15 sec of running. It looks machine pumping pressure...

sounds a if your heating element isn't being allowed to generate enough hot to send the hot water up the pipe, see most coffee makers do not actually pump the water, what happens is that the water passes through a heater that rapidly heats the water causing steam to push some of the water up the pipe(also creating the popping noise you hear), if the pipe is coated with residue from the water(most water has calcium and other mater which is deposited on the pipe walls during rapid heating), you need to do a cleaning cycle either using a commercial cleaning solution made for coffee pots or you can run some vinegar through it stopping for a few minutes about half way through the amount you are using to allow some of the vinegar to dissolve the residue from the pipe walls. that should clear up the problem, you should clean it at least every couple of weeks to keep it running smoothly

Vanishing water

Is this problem happening by chance after you have used the maker? If so the heat from the previous use may be causing the water to steam from being so hot and thus causing the pot to be only half full. the hotter the maker the more water evaporates. You might need to let it cool down in between pots.

Installing a Pot Filler

Hi 13Kat,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

You must connect to a flanged fitting behind the wall. The wall is sandwiched between the flange behind and the escutchen in front that holds the pot filler in place. These are usually installed on stainless steel sinks that have stainless steel back walls and do not come supplied with the flanged fitting, available at any plumbing supply.

No water coming through washer line

If there was work done on the water lines, they may have lost some grit in them. I would turn off both supply lines to the machine, gain access to the rear of it, bring along a pot to catch the spills and take both lines off at both ends, inspect the wire mesh screens that will be at (at least) one end of each hose. While the hoses are detached from the machine inlets, check those too for debris/sand possible other contaminents. Additionally, hold a pot or other container under the faucets and open each one of them quickly and briefly to flush possible crud out of those and perhaps the line too. Look at the water you've caught and see if there is any deposits that have come out with it.    I think you will find the water supply obstructed from the wall to the machine.

It wont heat up and all the lights just keep blinking

I have the same problem EVERY time I want to use the crock pot. My solution has be patience. I find that if I turn it on, and the light blinks, but when i click it it will blink on 4 hours, then go back to the blinking light. By keeping the crock pot plugged in and off for about 10-15 minutes I was then able to set the crockpot up for cooking. As if the capacitors inside the unit needed power stored in them from the wall.

That knocking noise is probably coming from your water line, and that happens when there is some kind of a ripple/wave effect when the water goes into your dishwasher (DW) thru the inlet/fill water valve. First turn your hot water valve off, underneath the sink coming from the wall and it usually is also going to your kitchen faucet. Then turn the electricity off by locating the breaker to the DW line and turning it off, or if it is plugged in an outlet under your sink, just unplug it. Then take the kick toe panel (panel with 2 or 4, 1/4" or philips screws) from the bottom of the dishwasher. You will then see the water hose, or could be a copper pipe, going into the valve (will have a selenoide, cylinder shape on top and have 2 wires plugged in to it). Unscrew the hose/pipe from the water valve and get a small wide bucket or pot and aim the hose/pipe to it. Slowly have someone open the water valve from under the sink while you hold it in the bucket/pot. If you hear the knocking again, you will need a plumber to check the pipes, hoses and water valve at your wall. If you don't here the knocking noise, just replace the dishwasher inlet/fill water valve part # 785330. http://www.repairclinic.com/0080.asp. Please post back.
