This should help out, but remember this model is a lower end disposal and has only a 1yr warranty.

First turn power off to the disposal. then use a long handled spoon to reach in the disposal to feel if there is anything blocking the fins or the outer edges of disposal. I've even seen those plastic tooth pick/flossers stuck in disposals.

Hello, Tell your husband to wash his feet some place else, OK. it needs to be cleaned. Don't put you hand in it, OK. On the top in sink remove the rubber flapper and clean it with soap water and vingear. Put about four large cups of ice and tuirn on the disposer. The ice clean out any stuff that in the chopping blades. Mix up a sink of water, soda and a little clorex in the disposer sink then let the sink drain and turn on the gargage disposer then let it run while water is running into it. Do a cleaning procedure once or two a month. couple of lemons, Clorex, baking Soad, this stuff will work great. It will make you disposer smell like fresh spring day but tell you husband to keep his feet out of the kitchen sinks. GB...stewbison

my emerson e20-30-1 won't turn off. i pressed the button to start the food disposed now it wont stop unless i turn the power off at the switch. can someone please help. thanks

One of the kids took a part off the coffee machine and threw it down the gargage disposal. Thanks.

There is a knock-out plug inside of the disposal port.  A crewdriver, hammer and a few solid wacks should remove that completely.
If you already removed the plug, a piece may have been left in.
