Yes , you can gain access by removing the speaker grille that pops off by grabbing it in the corners and pulling it out . Once removed you will see wires that come from the bottom of the screen trim and going into an access panel in the middle where you removed the speaker grille from . Make sure the tv is unplugged and remove the access panel and there should be two clips that need to be unpluged so when you remove the screen these to not pull out from the boards . Now you should see 4 to 5 phillips screws along the bottom of the plastic srceen that need to be taken out . once out now the screen can be removed . Now the screen slides on and off by pulling it upwards by grabing the plastic trim sides . It might be snug . Now some sets the bottom piece comes outward then up . Try the this previous suggestion first . Once off remove the cob webs and clean the three lens while your there to remove the dust buildup on them with a soft slightly damp cloth not pressing hard then dry it off with a cloth that is not damp . Make sure when putting the screen back on it slides back in the hooks that were holding on and the screw holes should line back up and connect your two cable clips back on and put access panel back on and speaker grille and your problem is solved . Good luck let know , thanks Team tech

Sounds like a Picture in Picture screen popping up, but if you do not have a signal from another tuner, it will be blank.

Try hitting the PIP button on your remote to see if it turns it off and on.
Plus go into the tv menu and find the PIP settings.

Left convergence on mitsu vs-60609

Convergence IC's inside of your TV are nearing end of the life. If during adjustments that you made Red and Blue was moving in all directions (left, right, down, up) than resistors and fuses still probably OK. IC's (part number will start with "STK" and they attached to huge aluminum radiators) have to be replaced and fresh heat sink compound have to be applied.
After that convergence adjustments should not be a problem. And color will stay together for another several years.
regards.
Russ.

Sounds like bad convergence chip. I think you can get a kit to repair it at www.tvrepairkits.com

You need to be good with a soldering iron if you plan on doing this yourself.

Mitsu. 60-inch VS-60609 Green Light goes out..tv goes off.

You are dealing with bad solder connections. The solution is to pull the board, put it under a magnifying glass and resolder all suspicious connections. before going too far with pulling the chassis, look over all the boards near the egde under the tubes. Be sure there is no liquid present, if there is give it up the set is toast. If not then continue on and place piece of plastic draped over the front of the left and middle boards to about 5 inches in towards the center just before putting the back on the set.

Cob web

The cob web is likely to be on the other side of the screen. I undid the back cover and dusted the screen from the inside. I also sprayed pesticide inside the TV (wood and corners only!)

You would have to completely take the Mirror out or Mylar backing and being careful not to damage anything, trying to move and reassemble when you get at the new location.

My screen is turning colors

May it have been knocked about so the projectors are out of alignment, or may it have been standing next to a powerfull magnetic field?

It may also sound like a mirror may have become misaligned, since the top half is affected
