Question about Cameras

1 Answer

My Sc29 seems to work when it does but at times does not respond to camera or vice versa. I use it with my D700. I tried cleaning the contact points and thought that would help but the problem still exists.

There may be a break in the wires in the cable. Clean the contacts on the flash, camera and cable again really good and try again. do not use sandpaper aor anything abrasive since that damages the contacts and makes them more likely to fail. Use a rubber pencil eraser. If this doesn't work buy a new cord, as they are unrepairable.

How to fix error 001 in canon lens

The Canon Err 01 is called Lens communication.
The lens has lost communication with the camera, or vice versa. This can be caused by dirt or grease on the gold coated contacts. On the lens or in the camera.
Try cleaning the contacts, with a dry cloth or cotton swabs. Don't use any sharp tools or force. To pinpoint where the error is, you could try to place another lens. If the error disappears most likely the first lens caused the problem. If the error stays, you should suspect the camera.
If you only have the problem with one lens, and the contacts are clean, contact a certified Canon repair centre.

My opteka zoom lens is not recognized by my Nikon d300

First, make sure that you have the right adapter to couple this lens to your Nikon. A universal adapter may actually fit and properly click into place but the electrical contacts may not match your Nikon. Make sure the electrical contacts on the adapter match the contacts on the camera body.

If they don't match, get an adapter specifically for Nikon and perhaps, specifically for your camera.

Once you have verified that it is a Nikon adapter, you need to make sure the electrical contacts between the adapter and the camera body are clean. Many people clean the contacts by holding the lens release button down and twisting the lens or in this case, the adapter, on and off ten or more times.

If neither of these options work you may need to contact Opteka, Nikon or both.

Nikon d700 error message

Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the lens with alchoho and a cotton swab? The DX lens will have to tell the camera that it's not a full frame lens, and that happens through those contacts.

Post a comment if that won't work and we can go into more troubleshooting.

Camera will not turn on

Check lens contact. Remove lens, clean contacts, but them back and try again.

Good luck!

This sounds like a battery problem.  Make sure that it is fully charged or you replace the batteries and clean all battery contacts in addition to using some canned air to blow out the camera.  Let me know if this works, if not I will research it further.
