Hi, my son has a LG 55LB6100. The screen flashes when turned on. Can you assist me in trouble shooting? Is it the LED power board or am I looking at replacing LED lights? Help please. Thanks, Lonnie

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

The radio has gone completely dead, no power going in. I have checked the plus fuse, changed the lead and used a different electric point but nothing has changed. Any ideas?

Hey there!
It seems the circuit cell has gone dead. Which caused it so 'suddenly' not work any longer. I suggest you get in contact with the customer care for the device and they can change the circuit board. Because if just one circuit is dead, the whole board is dead too.
I wish you all the best and if you need anymore assistance, feel free to reply back and contact me.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I hope that I helped you & that this post helps you at most!

Sharp LC-13av4u will only stay on for about 8 sec.. I ahve checked the caps, on power board

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If you have already checked the capacitors on the power supply board and they seem to be fine then it can be a circuit protection issue. If that is the case the unit either turns off after sometime or the sound remains there. To check what is the issues inspect the diodes as they are part of the protection circuit if the backlight misfires. You can also test the components by a voltmeter however, it is only recommended if you have knowledge of internal circuitry. Please note that the TV components consists high voltages even when in off position. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

TV will not power on. not from remote not from TV power Panel. No lights nothing, no sound, NOTHING HELP!

TV needs power supply board replacement that is available with Shop Jimmy, click link to have price info.
If you are handy with electronics stuff repair then it would not be difficult to replace this board. Unplug connectors of old board, remove screws and take out old power supply board. Put things in reverse order and job is done.
Thanks.

Completlly stop working after wrong polarity lead been plugged In

one of the first things that go are is the protection diode coming off the + input. Then a fuse and so on. Surface mount fuses are light in color (usially green with white text). Attempt to bypass these components with a small wire or paperclip. Once you follow the lead from positive input you will run into a black rectangular block about the size of a grain of rice with 3 leads. That will be your voltage regulator. Its set at the correct voltage, and since you already have a power supply with a set voltage, then you dont need it. Its also the first thing that blows when you switch polaritys. (voltage regulators have 3 pins - input output and ground) when you switch polaritys that ground becomes the "input" and ..... go to all http://www.alldatasheet.com/ and type in the text you see on that component. It will then identify the component and list its voltage output and at which pin.  Apply set voltage to lead and ... pray?

Best of luck.

hi
your convergence circuit has started giving trouble .... normal thing after a few years running for projection televisions ...... could be that the convergence IC's are getting too hot (two big IC's on a heast sink bearing an STK number on it) or that you have some loose soldering that needs to be resoldered on them.... worth the check
or have your power supply circuit board checked, if nothing seems wrong trouble leads to your horizontal deflection circuit board.
regards
