Question about ScanSoft Nuance PaperPort 11 for PC
Paperport 11 crashed as soon as I open it. "PaperPort has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I found that the problem was caused by a corrupt file in the default directory. I moved all the files from that directory to a new one and the problem was fixed. I transferred the files back 3 at at a time until I found the bad file. It was a PDF file not created by PaperPort.
NO help from Nuance

Same thing happened on my computer ... I discovered that there were too many files in the directory it was scanning. The Page Viewer timed out before it had created all the thumbnails
I moved some of the files out of that directory, and it worked perfectly
