You've accidentally deleted your lists instead of clearing your lists. Press the stat key and then select #5 (set up editor). You will now be back at the home screen. Now press enter and done will appear on the home screen. All of your lists should now be available.

How do you find List 1?

When you press [STAT] key, under the EDIT menu you see [1:Edit]. If you press 1 you open all the lists for editing. If L1 is not there, that is because you deleted it.
  1. To restore the L1 list (BUT NOT THE DATA) , press the [STAT] key.
  2. Under the EDIT menu, press [4:SetUpEditor] and press [ENTER].
  3. The L1 list should be restored.

When using the STAT>EDIT option

In order to create a list, press STAT->EDIT and scroll all the way to the right of the column titles. Once you go far enough (usually past L6), there should be a column with no title and when your cursor enters it, ALPHA-lock should come on. Enter any name into the title box for this blank column. In your case, you will want to press 2ND->L2 (which is the "2" key's alt. function). Then press enter or scroll down the page. You should now have a list with the name you entered among your lists and it should work just like any other list.

When I push stat abd then edit, all that comes up is a list with "name" at the bottom of the screen. How do I get off that ?

Each "list" has to have a name. Usually, the lists are named L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6 ect. but you can give them text names as well.
To name the list, go to Stat--> Edit --> Input a name--> Enter To input a name, either do 2nd --> L1,L2,L3 ect.. or use Alpha --> Name

In my STAT-Edit, there's only L5, L6, L4 and a blank List.. and my L1, L2, and L3 are missing..i accidentally deleted do i get them back?

Scroll to the blank sport (hit the left/right key a couple times) and then type in the missing list names.
So where the _ _ _ _ _ is hit 2nd then 1 for your L1, 2nd then 2 for your L2 and so on

It never shows L1 L2 or L3..its stuck on just l4 l5 l6 in the edit list section

You can always restore lost or deleted statistical lists by pressing the STAT button. In the menu list that is displayed, press 5:SetupEditor and ENTER. The content of the deleted lists will however NOT BE RESTORED.

There is something wrong with the list under the EDIT selection in the STAT menu

I can't guess what could be wrong. However there is a simple way to restore everything. Press [2nd][STAT][5:SetUpEditor][ENTER].
That should restore the L1 to L6 lists.

If you want to clear the list, press [2nd][0] to access the (CATALOG) of commands. Press [PGRM] to jump to first command that starts with C. Scroll down from there till you reach ClrAllLists and press [ENTER].
Try this and if that does not solve your problem, post to this thread, elaborating on that "something wrong".

There is no L7 list. You can put your data in any available list. You can even create your own lists.
Anyway, to recover the L1,L2,L3, and L4,
Press [STAT][5:SetUpEdidor] [ENTER]
Calculator displays Done.

Press [STAT]. Under Menu EDIT, Press [1:Edit]
The List editor opens the L1,L2, etc. liststo let you enter your data.

It has been years since I had to use my TI-83 Plus and I can't remember how to clear the lists

  1. Press [2nd][0] to access the (CATALOG).
  2. While catalog of commands is displayed you can scroll gown to reach ClrAllLists.
  3. Alternatively, you press [PRGM] to jump to first command that starts wit C, then scroll down from there.
  4. Select command and press [ENTER].
  5. The ClrAllList commnad echoes on main screen.
  6. Press ENTER to execute command.
  7. Calculator answers Done.

A simpler way. Press [2nd][MEM][4:ClrAllLists] then press [ENTER]

Another more radical way is to reset the RAM. Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset][ENTER]. Calculator replies with Ram Cleared. Press [CLEAR] to erase the message.

To clear a single list:

Open the statistics data editor [STAT][EDIT]. Navigate to the list you want to clear. Press the Up arror to move cursor to the heading of the list and press [CLEAR] and validate by pressing ENTER.

Other way:

Press [STAT][4:ClrList]
Command echoes on main screen and you have to enter the name of the list. If it is one of the 6 accessible from the keyboard you press [2nd] [1, 2,3, 4,5, or 6] to enter L1, L2,L3,L4,L5 or L6.

Why don't L1 and L2 show up when I press stat then edit? Instead I get INEQX and INEQY at the top. This way I can't plot anything.

I just created two lists which I named AD and AC. When I press [STAT] [EDIT], I got all the native lists L1 to L6, and pressing a few times the right arrow, I got my new lists to appear. Here si a screen capture taken by TIConnect.

At first I thought that INEQX, INEQY may be internal variables of the Ineqalz application. But that is not so. So I undertook to create extra List variables.
So if you do not want those lists to take up space, use Le ClearAllLists command under [2nd][Catalog] reset RAM.

Hope it helpsmoz-screenshot-2.pngmoz-screenshot-3.png
