That is correct. The camera does not recharge the batteries. If you are using rechargeable batteries then you also need a compatible battery charger for the batteries you are using.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to switch on flash on my praktica slimpix 5200

On the 5240 similar model you press the right hand navigation button on the back of the camera. It has a flash symbol engraved on it but not very clear on mine. The screen goes blank as if nothing happens but it is charging the flash and with fresh batteries will come back in 5sec or so. Then when you shoot it will flash, and there will be a flash symbol showing on the screen.....Press again to alter to fixed rather than auto flash, and again to turn off.

Lost cd and when i put USB in computer it doesn't work?

The New Hardware Wizard comes up whenever a new device is connected to the computer. At this point, you would usually put the CD into the drive and proceed from there.

Since you have lost the CD, go to http://www.praktica-uk.com/dload.php and select "Driver download for Practica SlimPix 5200" from the drop down list. Click on the Icon and download the file SlimPix 5200.zip. Unzip the file into a new folder and connect the camera. This time, when the New Hardware Wizard comes up, direct the wizard to the new directory rather than let it search for the drivers.

Camera won't switch on

I thought the batteries had worn out because when I press the 'on' button the 'busy' light comes on for a few seconds and then goes out and nothing happens. Have changed batteries and checked installed correctly.
Any ideas please?

I have heard that other people experience problems with un-available Vista drivers (not particularly your item)...either check camera's website for new driver, or wait it out until they write one or go back to XP
