Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Pro System Console

Problem with the A/V Port

So I had found an xbox 360 quite a while ago. No cables were there with it, so I decided to take it home with me. My friend owns a working xbox 360 so I decided to try it out. The power supply is fine, no red rings appeared. The problem is when we turned it on, the A/V port isn't working. I don't think it's the graphics card, but the port itself. I don't want to go through the trouble in sending it directly to microsoft and pay for the repairs. Can anyone tell me how to fix it, or is it even possible?

I had the same issue with an origional xbox 360. I tried different cables but all the same. I jumped on youtube and found how to get into the internals and was quite easy. Then I spent ages cleaning all the dust and crud out. Then it worked well. The power box on the cord also has a fan and I also cleaned it out. Well does in australia. Not shure about overseas models. Could be worth ago

cheeers.

I dont know how to set up my xbox live with an eathernet cable can you help?

Hi there

Turn off the Xbox 360 by pressing the power button on the front of the console. Afterward, shut off your modem by unplugging its power cord.
  • 2 Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port located at the back of your Xbox 360 console. After that, insert the other end of the cable into your modem.
  • 3 Replug the power cord into your modem to turn it back on. Once it is active, press the power button on your Xbox 360 to turn it on.
  • 4 Navigate to "My Xbox" then "System Settings." Afterwards, select "Network Settings" then "Test Xbox LIVE Connection." You will be notified on-screen if the connection is successful.

When I am switching on the xbox I am getting all four red lights on with flashing.

Disconnect and reconnect the AV cable. If that does not work, you can try a friend's cable. If that works, the cable is shot, if not the 360 needs a service or, well, that cable is shot too!

well, you could re-solder the terminal connections, but other than that not really. and if you attempt to solder it yourself and fail Microsoft wont fix it for you.

For some reason you can only have the component leads with optical cable, if you put hdmi cable in there is no connection for the opticle cable out.

I have friends who have tried quite of few tricks. The best thing I have found is the Antec notebook cooler. It plugs into one of the usb ports on the 360 and has fans that pull the hot air off the 360 and blow it out the sides. I found my at Staples they are around $30 but I got mine on sale for around $15. The 360 needs to lay on its side to use this but it works great and keeps it cool.
