How do I make a YouTube account. Want to put a video of me singing

Easiest way is to make a gmail account or google account
Once you created one, log into youtube, using your gmail\google account.
Nest thing ,is, do you have a good working mic\camera?
You may want to download the manufacturer software for your mic\camera and run it to confirm you are able to record and hear yourself.
Alot of the latest hardware out there now have software that have video and image taking , then you can save and upload through youtube.

I have followed the directions (the manuel and even youtube videos) about 5 times already, but I am not getting any reading from my mic. I have the US-144 and a mac. I talk into the mic, but it's not...

Hello,
What model is your mic? Some mic's need the phantom power switch turned on. I have the US-144u and it works great with my RODE NT1-A both on MAC and PC. What software are you using to record with?
If you mic is not using the XLR type connection, you will have to set the switch to Guitar / Line In not Mic

Im having distortion problems on my microphones, how do I activate the compressor on my mixer?

You can't activate something you don't have. The XENYX do not have compressors built in.

If you are getting mic distortion you are not properly setting up the mics.

You one at a time press the PFL down and have someone yell at the mic the loudest they will ever be. You adjust the trim control for that mic to be below the clip on the LED display. The you turn that PFL off and go to the next mic.

From that point all mic adjustments are from the slider. If you can't get enough gain, then back off ALL the other non-mic inputs and crank up the main slider and/or the power amp gains.

You have to learn to balance all the gains.

There are instruction videos on YouTube under "Soundboard".

How can you copy audio from you tube to cd or i pod?

You cannot copy Audio from Youtube. But there is an alternative. First you need to install Youtube Downloader in order to download the videos or the audios from Youtube.

Next you will also need a FLV to MP3 converter in order to get the Audio which will be compatible for CD or iPod as files downloaded from Youtube will come in .flv extension which doesn't work on normal CD player or iPod.

Playback only on left speaker

The quick, easy solution is to change your microphone to mono recording. In the attached YouTube clip, I'll show you how to do that.

The short and simple is to go to your Mac HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Audio MIDI Setup. Select your C01U USB device, and set it to 1ch 16bit. This will set the microphone to record in mono, equally over both speakers.
