Question about Endless Summer 233010 Natural Gas Stainless Steel Commercial Patio Heater

1 Answer

Heater will not light pilot consistently - although I did get the pilot to light a few times and got the burner to light once, but the burner stopped after a few seconds. The pilot does stay lit. I presume a thermocouple?

Pilot light goes out after thermostat kicks off

If it's a direct spark ignition type heater maybe that's how it's designed .When called for heat pilot open allowing gas then ignitor spark and ignite the pilot then gas valve open and allow gas through burner then unit fires off .
Once temp is met pilot valve closes and pilot out .

Have a Reddy Heater RCP275 propane gas heater. If able to light - the heater will burn for 1-5 min. but then goes out. Sometimes burner will not light at all when the red pilot button is released. At times...

Sounds like the igniter needs to be replaced. It is normal for a heater to run five or so minutes that means the thermostat is working. then restart when the temp calls for heat but if the igniter does not work it will not light up again.

Heater ignites with a whoosh and blows out the pilot light

Thank you for posting your question here on

Clear out the spiders or other debris that is blocking one or several gas jets into the burner tubes. After the heater lights the first time, use a mirror to see which burners are not producing a flame to know which jets to clean. At least the one closest to the pilot assembly will be blocked.

How do I light my Rheem water heater if my peizo ignitor switch isn't working

Remove the burner access cover under the control valve. Press the pilot light button (gas control) and hold it down. At the same time, light the pilot. Continue to hold the lighting button for a few seconds until the thermocouple heats up. Release the button. Twist the gas control knob to the ON position, and the burner should fire up after a few seconds. Replace the access cover. Good luck.

Hi: I have a atwood-6-gallon heater, the pilot works well but when I try to switch over to the main burner the pilot goes out time after time --- only used once. Thanks in advance Jim

This can be caused by a number of problems.
1. How long has the pilot been lit before you turn it to burner? It needs to warm up the end of the coupler. When you push in on the knob to light the pilot, hold it in for a while after the pilot lights. This allows more gas/hotter pilot flame to warm things up.
2. How fast are you turning it to burner? You need to do it really slow. The gas is under pressure and can blow out the pilot if you do it too quick.
3. Is there a blockage in the tube? Lady bugs, spider webs, etc. can cause a blockage and this problem. It's pretty common. (A long pipe cleaner will clean it out in a few seconds.)
If all of these fail:
4. It it getting too much/too little air? Check the air gap in the end of the tube. (Also called air manifold)

Im looking for the pilot light

The pilot light is normally located over the just burner box and will have a small door or removable panel to help get to it. The easiest way to find it it to first locate the gas valve. This will be an aluminum block with a few pipes connected to it. It will also have a knob with Off, On, and Pilot written on it. Once you have found the gas valve, look for two small diameter pipes about 1/4" and 1/8" in diameter. Follow these pipes inside the burner area. It will lead to the pilot assembly. Follow the directions on the heater to start your pilot.
