Either the paddle for the ice/water dispenser is stuck or you have a bad microswitch behind the dispenser. To stop the ice/water from dispensing open the freezer door and press or hold the child lock button down. Once the unit is in child lock mode you can shut the door without energizing the dispenser. Another option is to remove the upper freezer door hinge cover and disconnect the wire connector up there. This will remove voltage from the dispenser as well. Then either replace the paddle or switch. Sometimes the paddles/switches will get stuck because of splash up from ice dropping in sugary drinks.
When i operate the water dispenser, water flows out from the dispenser [not strong flow]. There is also water flowing out at the bottom of the freezer door [hinge area]
I think the line running inside the freezer door may have come loose? If so, how to reattach it? Do u have any layout drawings of how the hose is being connected.
First of all the worst thing you can do is set your fridge on the highest setting even though it has it. That's live reving your car to the red line just because it has it. As far as your challenge is concerned, it sounds like a breach in the seal of the fridge or dispenser. Check to see if the ice despenser is closing properly after use and check the door seal to make sure it's closing tight when the door is closed. To do this, simply inspect it for any bad wrinkles, cracks, folds, etc. if none are visible close the door on a dollar bill and make sure it holds securly all the way around the door. I f it doesn't, the seal may need to be replaced and/or the door is warped. If you continue to have issues, post again, we will work this out.
I lowered the temp on the freezer to 4 overnight, by morning water dispenser is working fine. I think that when we changed the temp to 7 (in order to make more ice ) it froze the water pipe going to the dispenser. I am going to keep both fridge and freezer at 5 ,and hope this will not happen again.
Most side-by-sides have a length of hose at the bottom of the freezer that send the water to the ice maker and water dispenser. take the back off so you can see this hose, there may be a kink in it, or a clog.
