How do I get the ringer back on?

Unfortunately, handsets are not universal for Uniden cordless phone systems. The accessory handset for the EZX290 is compatible with the DECT1500, 2000, 2100, 300 and 2900 DECT 6.0 phone systems. I wish that I had better news for you. Unfortunately, the two systems (EZX290 and D1660) don't use same handshake codes.

The DCX160 is the part number for the accessory handset used with Models D1660 and D1680 and a few others models. The handset used for these series are all interchangeable and has the same keypad function. You can reference the information for the DCX160 using the handset for D1660 Following is the link for the D1660

You may download a copy of the manual here. You can decrease the ringer volume as shown on page 4 and/or set the silent model as shown beginning on page 9.

In standby mode, press the up-arrow button to raise the volume. See page 4 of the manual. If the phone is in silent mode, see the instructions beginning on page 9.

With the phone in standby, try pressing and holding the # key on the handset for 5+ seconds. This toggles the silent mode for the D1660 between "always on" and off. If this doesn't help, check the Ringer volume. (This can be set by pressing the volume + button with the phone in standby on some models.)

If this doesn't work, please add a comment with the specific model Uniden DECT 6.0 phone that you have? There are several. The ringer tone is in the "Handset Setup" menu (page 6). You can also assign a personal ring to each person in your phonebook (also on page 6).

Hi! Most phones have a double function for this "#" key. Just press and hold this button "#" and the silent mode will turn off/on.
