How do I get the disc drive of a dvd recorder to open after getting out the disc and resetting the machine?

Go back through the release process you did the first time to remove the stuck disk. it appears that part of the mechanism that moves the drive did not engage again.

Need direction on how to transfer all my mac osx stuff to my rocstor..is this possible? If so how do I do this.

Use "Time Machine", which is part of OSX.
1] Connect your Rocstor drive to your Mac.
2] Open "System Preferences", and then click on "Time Machine" down in the "System" section of the System Preferences window.
3] In the newly opened window for "Time Machine" preferences, click on the "Select Disk" button to choose your Rocstor drive.
4] Click on the "Options" button to set any files/drives to exclude from backup.
The above is very basic directions for backing up to an external drive using Time Machine. You can get more detailed info through the Apple "Help" menu.
Hope this helps you!

How do I open the cd player to play a cd?

I assume that you have tried to open the drive in the usual way but it is not opening. If so, then switch your machine on, get a paper clip (preferably large) or similar and straighten it out. On the edge of the drive near the eject button there should be a very small hole. Insert the paper clip and push it in and the drive should open. If it continues to fail to open, suggest you replace it as they are now not expensive.

Will my 505n be able to run a SATA & PATA hard drive?

I'm going to think it will Not run a SATA Drive, however, it MAY have an open PATA drive slot. There is by default 1 open bay in this machine. Whether there is an open spot to plug the cable in on the motherboard and an extra Plug on the Power Supply for the drive, you will need to open the machine up for. The Connector for the Power Supply is a rectangular 4 Pin plug. This plug is typically black or white and will have 2 corners that are run at an angle. The Data Side of the Connection comes in the form of a Ribbon Cable. There should be 1 running to the hard Drive currently in the machine, but you will need to check and see if has an open slot. There are only ever 2 Slots total on a PATA cable.

After installing Apple iTunes, my CD/DVD tray will only open when I use the eject command in iTunes or when I use a paper clip. What did iTunes do to my machine and how can I repair it?

You can do manual procedure about it. Try to reboot your computer and then while your computer is starting up, open the tray of your drive by using the eject button. If the drive opens then there might be a problem with your newly installed software. But if not then remove the drive from your computer and then re-attached it again. Turn-off your computer first while doing this. After that, power on your computer and then open the tray while your computer is booting. This checks if the drive has power on it.

Hope this helps..

10657 error code

I got the solution to this problem at the Genius Bar.
As they explained it, Time Machine is software that saves files on the backup drive in a format that can only be read by Time Machine. So, when you open Time Machine, you can click on any file and it will open.
If you try to open a file directly from the backup drive, it needs a program to open it, and if Time Machine is not open, you get the error message.

If your computer crashes, when you get it fixed (or get a new Mac)and when you connect the backup drive, Time Machine will recognize it, will ask you if you want to associate it with your computer, and when you say yes, all your backed-up files are availabel and copied back into the computer.

If this solves your issue, please be kind to rate it.

Cannot burn cd/dvd on e-machine t-5082

On that tray there is a small pin hole. Straighten a paperclip and push it in there. That should open the drive. Put in a CD and see if the drive spins. If it does it just means that the spring for the drive door no longer works and I suggest you live with it. If, after getting a CD in it the drive won't recognize it you will need to check the cables inside the machine to see if anything came loose. If nothing is loose you probably need to replace the drive.

CD Burner Drive Will Only Open During Startup

Have you contacted gateway?? As In these cases I have found that most of the time that these things happen this way is corrupt drivers or firmware on the disc drive processor its self. Find the most recent driver and unistall the driver and reinstall to see what happens. Good luck
