Ok the only way to make your dvd drive in your performance product is to get a chip fitted to override the region code, to automatically switch region to match the inserted DVD disc ok, your are obviously trying to play a dvd from another country or region, either ask your local repairman for dvd players etc to modify your drive (insert a chip) to play these other region dvd's or get the same film in another country, ie. different region code ok

or an easier cheaper way...........................

use a program called AnyDvd (google it) to remove the region code temporarily from your dvd movie structure, .......as I mean by temporarily you will have to burn the dvd again while anydvd is loaded and has bypassed the region code........problem solved, have fun

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My pioneer dv-120k wont play australian or us cd's. Only home burnt copies of movies.

dvd players because of copyright info can only be set to one region code and can only play dvds from that region. Some players are set at factory some allow user to reset region usually a limited no. of times.
home burnrd dvds usually don't carry that info therefore no issue. So you need to reset player for appropriate region

Have an LG BH7520 player and cant play my region 2 dvd movies

With your set on and without disc in the tray:

1. Press PLAY from your remote control
2. Press the following button sequence: 1590 2379 390
3. Press PLAY again

This will release the region verification in your player(region free). However, some DVDs (multi region in particular) will not play, since they require region detection from the player unit.

DVD drive ''Free'' Region code does not play Region 1 DVD

You cannot see region 1 movies unless you change the region code, its designed this way as an anti piracy measure.

Cannot play dvd's from overseas

Your BluRay player is probably set/fixed to Region 2 (if you are in UK/EU). Most devices let you change the region bashing some strange combination of buttons on the remote control (engineer code/command), that allows it to be set to different regions or preferably REGION 0 (region free).

You can most likely find this by google'ing your BluRay player with the words region engineer code, but if you supply the make and model, don't mind having a look for you.

PSP region code

Yes, US movies are region 1 and China and Southeast Asian markets are region 3. This is supposedly to keep piracy low but considering you can't even burn UMDs yet that's kind of ridiculous. Go to http://www.engadget.com/2005/11/24/neuros-pumps-up-neuros-mpeg-4-recorder-2-for-psps-and-ipods/
to find a mpeg4 converter for UMDs or else you could get a new region 1 drive and flashing your bios. There's talk in the air about Sony releasing it's movies all regions from here on out due to this problem.

The DVD player does not recognize disks that it used to play before.

It sounds like the DVD region (a setting in both your OS and your DVD hardware) may have been changed. DVD regions are the agreed upon method (by entertainment companies, hardware manufacturers and governments) to limit cross-border sharing of media. Most valid (read: non-pirated) DVDs have a region code. Your DVD drive will only play DVDs with a region code that matches the DVD region code set on the DVD drive.

You didn't mention your OS but if you are running Windows XP then go to Start->Control Panel->System->System->Hardward->Device Manager and find your DVD player. Right-click the DVD player and select Properties from the menu and you should see a properties dialog-box with a DVD region tab. This is where you can change the DVD region that your player will recognize. Be careful, don't play around here, most DVD players have an embedded limit on the number of times (4-or-so) the DVD region can be changed.

Hope this helps.
