ACER ASPIRE 5670 - computer does not log on

I have changed the batteries several times - so I don't think it's the battery as it is fully charged
I can get as far as logging on but then the screen then says logging off.
Any help or suggestions try?

Well, You can easily isolate the issue
>If you have a diff laptop, try swapping this battery with that NB and charge it and see.
>If you have a diff battery, check that in this NB> If that works fine, it could be an issue with the battery and you may have to replace that .
>If the defective battery works fine with the diff NB>That could be an issue withe original NB.

Finally you can calibrate the battery by charging the battery till 100% and work on unit without plugging into adapter and drill down to 0% and charge it again and check, It should give better battery back up

Thank you for your query, this is not a too uncommon in acers it would seem you may have a cold solder joint on the motherboard causing a short and ultimatley shutting the laptop down

You will need to book the laptop into a reputable PC shop for repair

Help on extending the battery life of my acer aspire one!
If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, until they won't charge up at all.
The only solution is a new battery.

batteries should be conditioned before normal use by ensuring they are charged and then fully discharged for the first 3 to 4 charge cycles.

Acer Aspire 1640 power problem
Will the unit work without the battery? The new Lithium Ion batteries can be overcharged and then cause all kinds of strange problems. Take the battery to a reputable electronics shop or Batteries Plus and have them run a voltage and current test. The current test being the most revealing. If either of these is higher than the level printed on the battery, dispose of it. Also, check ACER's web site for battery problems. All the computer manufacturers have had battery problems.

Acer Aspire 5580 poor battery
Its time for a new battery. After a period of time of using a battery, the amount of charge it can hold depletes. Even if you always have it plugged in. Usually, batteries only last 18-24 months which is sad, seeing how much they cost. I'm a computer tech and see this problem everyday first hand. The best thing you can do is buy a battery from eBay and save yourself a bunch of money. Local retail stores charge up to 3 times as much for a battery. Good luck and I hope this helps..... :>)

Keyboard + toucpad freezes
Might seem ovious but you may want to try Acer support and look for a new Driver.. Also check under Control Panel...Mouse options... and also check device profiles to make sure windows isn't loading a "docked profile which may disable touchpad and laptop keybaord use.
