Dryer only blowing cold air

I have an LG Tromm and it is only blowing out cold air. I also recently had a power surge when the electricity went out for about 30 seconds during a storm. This same storm appears to have knocked out one of my light switches, which had to be replaced. Any thougthts?

First reset circuit breaker since it's 220 set set up is possible to have tripped one of the breakers not likely but possible. Next if that does not do it you need to buy an ohm meter and open the port to get to the heating coil so you can test the heater wire putting it on ohms and with it unplugged put the ohm meter leads on the two terminals and see if you get a reading, if the needle moves it's something else if it don't it's the heating coil, plus there is other things to but that wheeI'd start. but if your squeamish with 220 then call a appliance man, anyone worth his SALT Will have it fixed by the time you went to the store and bought the meter took it apart and replaced it.

My dryer Lg Tromm model number DLG5988 is blowing cold air, changed sensor bars still not drying- also the check filter light stays on and it's in cool mode and dry keeps blinking, what could it be?

sensor bars just measure humidity so dryer knows when close are dry, so will have no effect on heating. the check filter light is just a reminder, not connecter to any sensor or anything. could be several issues: gas valve solenoids, thermal fuses, etc. but for a quick try that might work, try just unplugging the dryer, push and hold the on button for about 20 seconds and then plug back in and see if the dryer is reset. works sometimes. good luck

Dyer will not heat

Sounds like an open heating element issue. If you have two sensors for internal temps, the chances of both going bad at same time are remote.
Locate the element wiring and disconnect from circuit and do a simple continuity test. Chances are that it is burnt out or open.

My LG Tromm electric dryer won't heat - again.

if the high limit is popping the dryer is getting to hot,i know you say you checked the vent line but i've heard that before, when i get out i remove the vent from the back of dryer, change out the t-stat and run it with the vent line off and it runs fine, how long is the vent line?if it's a long run remove it from the back of dryer and stick a leaf blower into it,blow it out to the outside and see what comes out, also first run it on air fluff,if this is a newer dryer set it to timed dry and then you can set it to air fluff,go outside and feel how it blows, then after you blow it out check it again,if you see alot of lint blow out and it's blowing harder your all set,you should take the dryer apart and clean it and the vent line once a year and you won't have any problems like this, also you won't have to worry about a dryer fire, your clothes will dry on time and less parts will have to be changed out, also when you get it to heat again run it on air fluff,if it gets hot on air fluff you have a shorted heater, one of the coils are touching the metal box on the heater and the heater won't shut off, also you have to clean out the duct where the lint filter slides down into,if this is blocked the dryer can't push the air out the blower wheel is blocked with lint.hope this helps you out happy holidays

Our Dryer runs but is not expelling heat. How can we fix this issue? The dryer only blows cold air. Thank you

check the vent line if clogged it will cause the sensors to trip off way too soon . that will not allow it too make any heat. check up inside the dryer as well if the vent is way clogged with lint the dryer will too. the vent should be cleaned twice a year

My lg dle0442w wont dry clothes blows cold air

Sometimes it is the heater element in the dryer. Other times the main circuit breaker has tripped one leg. Some 220V-230V breakers have two trip switches that are tied together. One half of the breaker runs the motor and the other half operates the heater. A defective breaker can also cause the problem.

LG TROMM DRYER DLE5977 Burning Smell

It is a POS dryer, we have the same one. My suggestion get another dryer. We vacuumed it all out (don't you have a problem with the lint catcher?) Then it started loud pounding noise, which a lot of people seem to have the same problem, then our sensor went out and we had to dry the clothes 5-10 x' crack in stainless steel drum and is chewing up all our expensive clothes!

Whirlpool Dryer blows cold air when starting no heat

Did the fuse blow out? If so then the heating element is shorted out. This happens frequently when they fail. If the fuse is blown check the condition of or change out the heating element.
