I just cleaned the carberator and new sparkplug it sounds like it not getting fuel when i put alittle gas in the carberator it starts and obviously stops? on my craftmen weedeater

if it is an older one, the gas lines like to rot away. you can usually tell by looking down inside the gas tank. you can also check to see if the primer is moving the fuel through the lines as you prime it

I have a Poulan 3400 and when I can get it started it won't run with any power. Changed fuel and fuel filter on end of fuel line in tank but still have to "feather it" once it is running and still bogs...

OEM fuel line gets brittle and cracks, typically passing fragments to carb, which clog filter screen in carb. If in doubt, replace line with "Tygon" available at most dealers. Pvc is not suitable. Cut tube at end at an angle and feed through tank hole with needle-nose/hemostat. You may be able to open carb to clean filter, or it may be better to find repair shop to do it as part of rebuild. Don't know if you can find replacement carb, but carb kit is available, and inexpensive.

The unit is lean. rebuild the carb with a carb kit and check your fuel lines. If they are brown or discolored or brittle they need to be replaced. carb kits run approx. 11 - 18 dollars from your local dealer.

Replace fuel lines WeedEater FL 1500 Blower

On the FL1500:
  • The Smaller line goes on the Lower inlet tube on the carborater the other end goes to the gas filter inside the gas tank.
  • The Larger line goes on the upper outlet tube on the carborater the other end goes to a fitting that holds this tube from coming out on the gas tank .This tube is only for Air, it helps fill the primer bulb when pushed.
I hope this helps.
Mechs correct me if I have made a mistake.

I re-tubed my trimmer and now the bulb won't prime

I had exactly the same problem. On my weedeater, there is a screen in the carb under the primer bulb that was dirty from the fuel line falling apart. After replacing the fuel line AND cleaning the screen, the primer bulb will move fuel and it runs great.

I have a weedeater series 300 lawnmower. When I prime it, it will run for about 5 seconds and then stops. It burns off the gas from priming it and then cuts off. If I do this about 20-30 times then it will...

thats a common problem with those briggs motors. There is a plastic tube that goes from the back of the carb to the other side of the motor. There are two small bolts that hold the tube down opposite the carb end of the tube. They loosen over time allowing to much air to get in. Also the tube cracks but not to often. If that doesn't help you need a kit that comes with a gasket and a diaphram. you may need that because the tube warps were it meets the carb. That should fix it.

Weedeater XT 85T wont run

Check to see if your feul line is cracked or it is drawing air . Check your clamps that hold the lines on . One other thing you can check is to see if any bolts are loose that hold the carb on . Best of luck Ed.

Engine dies when excelerating - more gas

check the fuek lines for hole and leaks, check the fuel filter and clean if necessary. remove the carbuerator and inspect the gasket; it should be soft and flexible, if it seems hard or brittle replace it. clean the carb with carb cleaner sray (available at any local auto parts store) and compressed air. make sure you get inside the small fuel rail holes. if that doesn't work have the carb repaired at a service center or replaced.
