Problem for 2wire (1000-000057-000) Modem
Power light is red on 2wire modem
I don't believe I had any power outage, the power light simply started turning red. It was going back and forth between red and green but it has been solid red for a while now. I called Quest for help and they just had me power cycle it and use the reset button in the back, neither worked so they told me I needed a new modem. It is only a year old and I haven't had any problems with it up to this point.

this happened to me and it turned out the power cord had gone bad. i went to radio shack and bought a new one for 35.00usd and it powered right up.

Mine just did this, and I really dont want to have to go and get a new one... this is the second time it has done this, and they just keep replacing it.

I used to work for AT&T and DSL modem/routers do get bad for a number of factors. If you have done plugging it to a different power outlet, I suggest you call Quest and request for a modem replacement. If it's not under warranty, I believe they can offer to extend your service or an upgrade then you can get a modem for free.
