Re: Batteries running out immediately

What kind are the batteries that you are using? You should be using NiMH rechargeable, made for digital cameras. Kodak make some good ones. That is what I use.

If the batteries are NiMH and the camera is still not staying on, then the batteries are not fully charged. Charge them overnight.

Regular alkaline batteries will never work more for more than one or two pictures.

Camera shows "exhausted batteries" with new ones.

i have this camera and i had the same problem
everytime i put in new batteries like 5 seconds later the battery was exhusted i tried cheap and expensive batteries but nothing seemed to work
i would recomend rechargealbe batteries because they last longer but if you prefer one-time use batteries you should change they battery type in the menu/ setup
hope this helps!! good luck

Power on n off

sounds like a battery power problem or problem with the terminal of the camera ; you know the point where the battery meets the camera.
I would recommend a service center

Camera showing battery exhausted with new batteries

There are three battery type settings in the set up menu: Alkaline, COOLPiX(NiMH) and Lithium. Might be worth looking at. To be continued.

This happens with almost all digital cameras. You have a couple options. first you can buy lithium batteries, which are a little more expensive but last considerably longer in digital cameras.

The second is you can buy rechargeable batteries, which in my opinion is the best option because you can reuse them, and they also last really long in digital cameras.

the problem is, you just cant really put normal batteries in digital cameras. Lame but true

I hope that my answer was of help!
