Which windows do you have ?
The following page is a good description of your choices...

Everyone should always have at least 2 user accounts on their computer. If you created a second account that you usually use to log in, you should be able to log on using the original Administrator account. Then, you can use the Control Panel to change the forgotten password to something else.
Many times the system admin password is left blank by computer manufacturers. Turn on the computer and keep pressing the F8 key until the computer beeps. Select safe mode from the menu list. When it loads to the login screen, you should see an admin option. Click on it to log in.
Keep "Password" column blank (or input the changed password if the default Administrator account password has been changed before).
#4: Start - Control Panel - User Accounts - select the account needed to change password - Change the password.
#5: Input a new password, confirm the password again and then reboot, but sign in with your normal (new password) account.
My suggestion: change the Administrator password to something you'll remember. Leaving it blank isn't a good thing, either.
