Can I get a call log from yesterday's phone call

It's only marginally possible, but you can start logging calls from today forward.

In a TA-824 and higher system, you can start an incoming call log. It's explained in the Installation and features manual. It's a couple of buttons you assign CID Select and CID Indication. That logs INCOMING calls with Caller-ID.

On the side or bottom of the Panasonic Key Service Unit, there is a DB-9 or DB-25 serial connector. If you turn on SMDR and connect it to a PC or serial printer (whatever that is) you can capture all the traffic in the box. There is software, or plain old Hyperterm will store the data. Now, the marginal part is that the SMDR data is buffered. If it's turned on but there's no capture device, the data will still be there. The trick is to get a com port opened up and the right speed (9600,N,8,1) and when you plug it into the port, it will spill the data (past history) to the buffer size.
It might pick up the last 200 calls.

How can I view and print call log from PANASONIC KX-TEM824?

Viewing is easy, printing not so much. The system has a DB-9 serial port on the cabinet. That serial port can be used to capture SMDR (Station Message Detail Recording) to a software program that can sort and print the call logs. Outside of that, you can turn on call logging (an option 6 or 7 or 96 and 97 IIRC from the PROGRAM press a button and dial the code) that will visually display personal or system calls.

It would be in your Operating manual. We use a program from the U.K. that captures the serial port and makes it available on the network, called Serial Logger Service It's a 30-day free trial, then $75 to register it..

I have a panasonic KX-TES824 Advance hybrid system machine. i want to how to check in and out calls from co lines.

On the side of the cabinet is a DB-9 serial port connector. If you get a PC or printer attached to the port and turn on SMDR, it will capture and print all activity in the system. There are no set log files for outgoing calls otherwise, but there is a limited set of incoming call logs where you can see the last 300 calls. It's in the programming manual for your system.

When you press PROGRAM 99 and the buttons where line 1 & 2 appear, it should say CO-01 and CO 02. If it doesn't dial 0 01 STORE and 0 02 STORE in those buttons. In a TD system, the lines have to appear in order for you to use them. They don't have to be 1:1, but it's the easiest.

(there's a Group CO button command to save buttons)

PANASONIC KX-T7730 HOW CAN I SET DOT MATRIX PRINTER TO TAKE CALLER REPORT MY PRINTER IS EPSON LQ-300-II before we using our hotel reception same this model printer now recently that printer repaired we...

SMDR requres a couple of things, a serial printer, a special cable outlined in the installation manual, and programming. It isn't a "free" solution or a step-by-step process. If you have the TD installation and programming manuals, start with the SMDR features description and the SMDR printer pinouts. It will give you detailed pictures and places to program in the system. IIRC there's a pin on the DB-25 side that you absolutely have to tie to another to make it work.

Is that USB to Serial? I guess you'll need to find the drivers for your device. After that, you can use a standard serial cable and either a call accounting package or hyperterm to capture SMDR.

Activating SMDR on panasonic TDA100

First off the phone box is a TDA100, best done if you have programming software. If not go to the phone that has manager programming, enter the admin password, then goto program 800, rs232 parameter, select enter, and use the up down pad and scroll thru the settings to set baud rate, bits, ect. Programs 800 thru 805 are all related to the reports that the SMDR use. Also note the connection should be a null modem pin out.

If you have computer program for the system in the last section on the left you will see a tab for SMDR along with other manager settings. Sorry I can relay the exact the numbers and layout have changed in the different program tools and software versions.

Good luck!

Call history

If your looking to see the traffic in and out on a Panasonic system, it can be done through the SMDR port. There is a free program available called Phonelogger and a couple of inexpensive ones like Panalog and ProSMDR. All require a computer with a serial port to capture the data and all but Panalog has web based reporting.

Call history of incoming calls at your phone set requires a TA-824 system or higher (848/TDA/TDE) and a button or two programmed for CID Indication and CID select. You also have to have CallerID service from the phone company.

Connecting laptop to phone KX-TA824 not reading COM 1 to connect

Save yourself the trouble and use the USB port :-)

TA's are tricky, I just order a cable for Panasonic from my supplier so I don't pay attention to the pinouts. The cable is a standard DB-9 Female to Female and it fits into my USB to serial adapter from Iogear.

You might just try a USB cable and make sure the serial port parameters are set properly. Change them, or make sure they are 9600,N,8,1 They are programmed in 1.7 of the maintenance console or via the programming phone in system option 800.

If all of that appears proper, it's probably time to look in the device manager of your laptop and make sure your serial port appears. Then, run Hypertrm to see if you can get SMDR. Once Hypertrm works, the Pana software should work.
