UNABLE TO PRINT TO COLOUR - Sharp MX-2610N Color Copier: MX2610N Printer, Scanner"

I have same problem, the message make me wonder. I am very sure there is no paper tears in the printer. But then i have the answer from internet. I hope this answer can solve your problem too.
First shutdown your printer and open printer cover and find something like ribbon plastic transparant. becareful,clean that gently use wipe tissue or alcohol tissue. dont touch with your finger. hopefully it can solve your problem.

The printer have its own initialization but seem to fail to complete initialization process. Check and clear the carriage jam, open check for motor failure in the carriage system.

Could be print head or print head PCB problem .

Set the maintenance unit into place, if the planetary arm does not
move smoothly, clean it. purge cam switch harness not connected correctly,correct the connection,purge cam switch broken replace the maintenance unit, gear(s) on the maintenance
unit broken paper feed motor defective replace the engine unit,
power supply PCB defective replace the power supply
PCB. Main PCB defective replace the main PCB.

Yellow is one of the colours used to produce a shade of red.

I don't know how but ther must be a way to print a test page to see if the print heads need cleaning I've never used a brother.

Please check if your Colour Ink Cartridge is not emply. If their's ink in the cartridge then try to service your printer through the Print Preferences. Your Colour Cartridge Nozzels could have been blocked thats why your printer is unable to print in Colour.

In case if both the above doesn't work then check in the Print Preferences that you should not have saved the option of PRINT DOCUMENT IN BLACK ONLY. hope this helps , AJ

its not possible till you get that rec colour refilled in your colour cartridge or replace the colour cartridge.so you cannot print black as the printer is not been able to end its cycle as the cycle is getting break at the colour cartridge.its very common problem faced by many users but no other option except replacing or refilling the cartridge.

When you print, check the print settings and make sure it's not set to black and white. Let us know if this fixes it.
