Only the lamps, p/n AX430070 (pressure)
AX430159 (heat roll)
the watts of the lamps are the same, just different voltage, so no you dont need thermisters.
-Carl, please let me know if this helps.

I have been advised of an error message on an Aficio 3800 series printer. I am told they need an 'Oil Fuser unit ' but as far as I can see the machine uses a Fuser Unit OR an 'Oil Supply...

The fuser uses an oil supply unit, which is changed separately from the fuser itself. The fuser oil supply unit (400549) is what is required.

You will find the manuals and other sueful details about this printer here.

How do i remove the code 'replace fuser unit type(c)

Sorry but in my experience there is no way to remove that error. We have a Ricoh APC4500 and i had to call in tech support to come and replace the fuser. If you do not have a warranty or a service contract with Ricoh then this might be expensive. WHat you could do is purchase the fuser from them and install it yourself but there is no "cheap" fix that i know of"

Hope this helps

My Ricoh 388 is in need of replacing the fuser unit which we just replaced months ago and are very expenseive. Is there a way to fill the oil only in the fuser unit instead of having to replace the entire...

Unfortunately, on the AP3800C the oil supply unit is part of the fusing unit. However, you can purchase just the oil supply portion of the fusing unit and replace that (part #G0604022).

I'm not sure how much that would cost, but it's got to be cheaper than a whole new fusing unit.

How to clean a fuser unit?

You can remove it and blow it off, or replace it, but you can't really clean it in the traditional sense. The rollers around the fuser however can be cleaned with a swab and alcohol. just try and get the pure stuff and not the bargain brand. In many cases if it leaves a residue it would defeat the purpose.

Reset error

Is the fuser in the machine? Open left side and the fuser should slide out.

Error message - Reset Oil Fuser Unit Correctly

The fuser oil sits on top of the fuser and has silver contacts on it. Sometimes the contacts in the machine get bent. Turn off the printer and check the contacts and if bent use needle nose pliers to make straight again. Make sure the contacts on the fuser oil are not drity.

Fusing belt damage

You should be able to buy the part from a Ricoh dealer - it's a part as opposed to a consumable. There are, however, two issues to take into account: 1) It costs nearly as much as a complete unit to buy 2) They are really tricky to fit.

I suspect you have used the old oil supply unit in your new fuser. If so the problem is probably there.

It may be that the paper jam has broken one of the upper fuser fingers. In the past I have removed these and the fuser has worked fine. You may find you get the occasional rap around but it should be a rare event.
