Camera won't read memory card anymore but card works on other devices. It used to read before but suddenly doesn't I don't know why.. Camera is not broken and never been dropped,,

The only way to be sure the card is not damaged and the camera is, try to format the card (AFTER SAVING ALL PICTURES ON THE CARD FIRST) in the camera. Cameras can be very picky what format, or what device did the format.
It should be a second nature, to format a memory card every time it is used in an otter device and after you place it back in the camera.

Then a camera does not to be dropped to be broken. There are lots of other reasons it can become damaged. Like pressing in a memory card in, the wrong way around. Leaving in bad batteries, for a long time. Exposing it to extreme heat. (in summer in a car behind the windscreen) or extreme cold. Exposure to damp or water. and so on and so on.
I hope the formatting will bring relief.

I just purchased a Kodak printer to print my digital pictures. When I try to look at the pictures wheather the memory chip is in the camera or directly in the printer it will only read 46 of the 200 or -...

If that's the case try connecting the the camera to your computer then print all the pictures then format your memory chip to make sure this is not a problem with the memory chip...

Hope that helps.......

You need to format the disk ....

The drives can be read by another computer, so the problem is most likely with OS/drivers on the HP giving the error. The specific drivers required to read each drive format could be missing/corrupt. Formatting shouldn't be performed on a drive that contains data unless backed up (redundantly). It may be possible to recover any lost data using free recovery software. Often a format preserves data, erases only the file directory.

I would try a system restore on the HP. If that fails to correct it install or upgrade format specific drivers (e.g. SD/SDXC drivers). Contact Magellan about the GPS: you may have formatted the device's system partition. It is unlikely your computer had the correct drivers to format that device, and it is likely formatted in an incompatible format (such as NTFS). Does Magellan provide a utility to read the device's memory? The SD card should be salvageable by formatting on another computer using the appropriate formatting utility. (Go to and navigate to their formatting utility.)

From that site: "If an SDXC memory card is used through the direct SD slot of a computer without SDXC driver installation, the card may not be recognized correctly and a message to prompt formatting may appear. In this case, do not format the SDXC memory card. It may erase the data on the SDXC memory card and format the card for a different file system, making it incompatible with SDXC devices."

I have a canon powershot s1 is, when i turn it on it tells me that there is no memory do i fix this?

The memory card in the camera may be missing, failing, locked (see if the lock slider is in the wrong position), or not formatted properly. Try removing the card and verifying that another device (camera, laptop, desktop, card reader, printer, etc) can read it.

If its fine in other devices, copy off any pictures that are important, and format it. That might resolve the issue.

Another quick test is to see if the camera will read another card.

Please leave feedback if this was helpful, thanks.

I am using a Panasonic DMC-FX100 with a Delkin Devices SDHC 8GB card. Am unable to down load pictures because of 1 only picture on the card has a read error which is preventing the complete down load...

First try to recover all the images with a program like the one you can download here, which is free:-

Then format the card, either by:-

1.) Format by using the menus in the camera [Review> Setup> Format]

2.) Format by inserting the card into the PC or using a card reader.
Then right click on the memory card's icon in the 'My Computer' window to bring up the format option, then format the card again in the camera itself to ensure compatibility.

I tried loading pictures to my device but most of them read, unsupported media media format.

You need to use the supplied Sansa Media Converter program to convert your pictures (and videos) to a form the Sansa can handle.

Memory card formatting error

Generally when you see this either the card has an error or the computer does. This doesn't mean either one is actually bad. For example the small SD cards used in cameras may not read in the camera bt will in the pc. The fix is simply to format it in the device that can read it. Or if you have to use a differant pc to do that. Then when you put the card into the device it should read it or at least recognize it. If it now starts to recognize it then format it again in this device and it should be working.

If this starts happening more and more the card is failing and you should replace it before you loose your pictures or data. As to the cause of why I've heard a lot of suggestions. Static electricity (shock) or something powered down wrong while it was writing to the card and so on. Sometime the card will do this once and not repeat, other times it can get annoying.

Not reading all photos on the thumbdrive.

From my research I see this device only supports JPEG/JPG formatted pictures. Please ensure that all pictures you wish to display are this format. You can convert the file format using MS Paint or any of your favorite picture editing programs.

Good Luck!

Card read error on the digital picture frame - brand new. I bought this 7" digital photo frame from argos and I insert the SD card whilst the device is turned off, when I turn it on the message reads...

Put the card back into the camera and off load/take off your pictures (Put them on the computer). Then, put the card back into the camera and go to your options menu. Find the format feature, and format the card. Take some new pictures and then try putting the card back into the picture frame. Does it work? If so, transfer the images from your computer back to the card. If it continues to work, then Great! If not, more than likely there is an improper or corrupt file among your photos.

Good Luck!
