The latter part of your comments look familiar. Virgin Net did a similar thing and when the transmitters went to digital, all analogue recorders were rendered useless. All they could do is record the channel you are watching! Sign of the times I think!
Solved the problem by connecting the freeview box back into the dvd recorder. Apparently because the dvdr was made before tvs with integrated freeview, it can only recieve decoded signals from a freeview box, ie analog
this is because you are recording a direct connection (what is on the screen is recorded) that is an option with some equipment.. unfortunately this means if there is nothing on the screen well you get nothing..
You need to record from the machines own built in tuner dont use direct record.. a vcr/pvr/dvdr after all remember is like a tv without a screen that can record it has its own channels to do this
The Philips DVDR 3505/37 has a built-in analog to Digital converter. No additional converter is needed. Just do the scan for over the air channels and set to go. Works fine now. [email protected]
