How do i void the gross sales on 500dx? - Royal Cash Register 500dx

You don't do this. The register must record sales into departments so it can keep proper records. The departments are usually set ready to go so just use any department after you enter the price (NO decimal point)

I haven't used a calculator with these functions, so let's do a test.

I'm guessing is it for doing basic accounting. The equation is Sales - Costs = Gross Profit and maybe Gross Profit / Sales = Gross Margin.

If we enter 100 in sell, 40 in cost, does the margin come out to be 60 or 0.6? If it comes out to 60, the margin is the Gross Profit. If it comes out to 0.6, then the margin is Gross Margin.

Royal does not list the "500DX" as a device they produce. My suggestion is to call their sales department and request a manual for that model.

Gross Profit Margin = Gross Profit / Total Sales

Company A has sales of $80,000 and a CGS of $60,000. GP=$20,000 and GPM = 25%

I have never had to do this, but the settings for gross and net are usually in machine features settings, so go through the tables in your book and see if you can find a setting for it in machine features.

If you make an incorrect entry relating to a department, PLU/subdepartment, percentage (%through •),
deduction (-through ≠) or refund, you can void this entry by pressing the void key (looks like infinity sign)immediately after the
incorrect entry.
