When your TV looks like 3D and you have already followed my instructions for replacing the convergence ICs at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4220499-change_projection_tv_convergence_ics
but the picture still looks bad, and you have checked all low ohm resistors in the convergence IC circuit, you need to replace the digital convergence box.
Sometimes the box can be hard to find and it may not always be near the convergence ICs. Generally the box is bright metal, vertically mounted to the mainboard. If you remove the side it will have a large flat pack IC with about 64 pins around the perimeter. Some units have the box soldered in while other manufacturers have theirs attached through a multipin clip. With the side removed you should be able to determine which way your unit is mounted and remove it properly.
The best source for replacement is http://www.encompass.com
. They also will generally list the digital convergence box as such. Some chassis have the schematics located there also which makes identifying the part much easier. If the manual is not located there encompass has a very good research department. Click on the research request button and tell them you need to know the price and availability for the convergence box for the model tv you have. They should reply with a part number and cost.
Another source to find the part is http://www.shopjimmy.com
. They do not always have units in stock.
Once the box is replaced you will need to enter the menu and set the convergence manually. This should be explained in your operation manual. If you do not have it you can get it at http://www.retrevo.com
