I had the same black screen problem with my razr phone.
I tried removing the battery, but that did not work. A friend told me to take the battery out for 15 minutes then reinstall it. It fixed my problem. Now my screen went black again. I tried the removing battery for 15 minutes, but this time it did not work. I tried solution 4 above pushing down on the brass battery connection points. I got my screen back but only for a few minutes.. It must be a loose battery connection, but I still don't have a solution.

The ribbon might be torn you will have to buy a new ribbon. the ribbon is what connects to screen to the rest of the phone. it's a wire.it's cheap an easy to change.

I had the same problem. I took the battery out and pressed "gently" down on the four brass looking battery post next to the sim card where the battery touches. Problem resolved. I think its just a loose connection. It worked for me, hope it works for you. I am thinking two of the post are for the top part of the phone and two are for the bottom part of the phone. I am not an expert, just someone with a lillte common sense.
