Re: cannot use internal and external mics
This could be a problem because of the sound drivers you are using. You have to have a Win Vista operating system for the correct drivers then i m sure the mic internal and external should work.

If you have the internet, goto my computer and right click, then goto properties, enter device manager, goto sound, video and game controllers right click on the exclamation mark or your audio driver and click update driver, use the internet option to download the driver, it takes a few minutes so be patient. once done reboot the mechine.
if u mean to say u plugged in an external mic then internal's not workin, then its a simple sound setting game..
Look when u plug in an external mic, the internal one freezes...
Now go to Control Panel, Select Sounds & Audio Devices Now select Audio As u select Audio, U'll see a mic icon.. Expand the tab & select ur internal mic.. Now apply it & click ok.. Now check whether ur internal mic is working or not.. I guess it wil work..
If u like my post, please rate me up... I really need some good ratings... Thanks !!!

Conexant High-Definition Audio Driver is the suitable for your laptop, but High Definition Audio Driver will not Install until the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver is Installed. To resolve this issue, download and install the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture Bus Driver (SP32646, version 1.00, rev. A) or later from the HP Drivers and Downloads page.
AFTER that download Conexant High-Definition Audio Driver from ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38501-39000/sp38615.exe
have you tried going to the control panel and under sounds and audio devices and under the voice tab make sure nothing is muted or something like that? does it only not work on the yahoo program? you can see if it is working in other stuff by going to the sound recorder in start menu - all programs - accessories - entertainment - sound recorder
