Question about GE GSS25IFR Side by Side Refrigerator
There are 2 Scenario's -
1.Refrigerator QUIT cooling
2.Refrigerator is not cooling well.
I Believe in the problem you described above , there might be few possibilities.
Note - Is the thermostat knob turned to the proper setting? If not, reset it.
Next, see if the compressor motor is running
The compressor is a football-sized case with no apparent moving parts. It's on the outside of the refrigerator at the back near the bottom. If it is humming or making a continuous noise and your refrigerator is still not cooling, there may be a more serious problem with one or more of several different components, we recommend contacting a qualified appliance repair technician for further help.
If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the refrigerator, there may be a problem with one or more of these:
To check Compressor, follow the below guidelines :-
Note - You would need to put an amp-meter on the circuit to see what the current draw is like.If the compressor is shorted to ground you cannot check the amp draw because it will constantly kill the circuit breaker. A better way to go would be to check the continuity of the compressor to ground and each winding.
To check Thermostat, follow the below guidelines :-

Check the wires in the harness down inside of the lower hinge of the
freezer door. I've seen them wear and short out against each other
causing this type of intermittent problem. It can be related to the control board problem and your model# is one
that is covered for the repair by what my paper work shows. Just google
the GE phone # and give them a call.
