If you are using the free software that came with the printer, it does not print serialized numbers very well past about 160 or so... to stop the pausing uncheck the "Print bar code as a graphic" box and check the "Auto font scaling" box.

I am using a Zebra S4M Thermal printer with Zebra brand labels. I changed out the roll of labels with a new roll and it will not print. It completed the task like it always does but i only get a blank...

The new labels are probably not thermal labels. Test them by applying heat to the surface and see if they turn black. If they do not change, then they are thermal transfer labels and not direct thermal. Contact your label vendor and have them replaced.

Hi I am unable to print from Zebra S4M.. while printing the configuration it prints but does not print the test page or the label.

There a number of things that can cause that: 1) wrong printer driver was installed 2) cable to printer is faulty 3) wrong port was selected when the printer driver was installed
Check these and let me know!

Loaded ribbon correctly according to Zebra S4M Quick Reference guide....but won't print anything on labels.

The ribbon has wax just on one side. So, if nothing prints on the label, first thing I'd check if the ribbon loaded with waxed side facing label.

Gaps in barcode with Zebra S4M

The gaps run in the direction of the label feed? You have a bad printhead. Bad dots on the printhead prevent it from printing your format in the areas that you see the blank lines.
There is no easy fix other than replacing the printhead. You can prevent (or actually prolong the time between failures) in the future by periodically cleaning your printhead. It's recommended that you clean the printhead after every roll of labels. The printhead is underneath the hinged assembly. Over time, ribbon or adhesive from the labels builds up and causes dots to go bad - creating the blank lines you see. Clean your new printhead with rubbing alcohol.

The barcode printing on the label is very large. I need it to be more 'compact'. How do I change? What are my options? Thanks.

Select the correct label size in the printer setup.Go to printing preference in driver and changet label width and height according to label which you use.Eg: 52MM and 25MM
when label is large double click the barcode and decrease font size according to your label size.

Zebra S4M - Print quality problems - not keeping Thermal Transfer

If you are using a windows printer driver then perhaps you have "Direct Thermal" selected in the printer preferences. The driver setting will override anything you have set in the printer. So every time you send a new print job the settings get changed to what they are in the driver.

S4M doesn´t print

The S4M comes with either EPL or ZPL programming language installed. (installed at factory) The S600 is a ZPL only printer. Check that you have correctly specified the S4M as a ZPL printer. Print a config label to check. If it is set as an EPL printer contact your supplier and ask him to download the correct programming language. It should only take a competent engineer about ten minutes (If he knows what he is doing)
