Immediately after pressing the power up button, start repeatedly pressing F2 while the Acer logo is displaying. The Bios setup screen should appear. If you press F2 too soon, the keyboard may not have initialized yet. If you press it too late, Windows will proceed to launch. Press it once, wait a second, press, it again, wait another second, and repeat this while the Acer logo is displaying until you see the bios setup screen.

This is standard approach with most Acers. That said, some laptops may defer to either Ff being the key to press or CTRL+ALT+EXC. Such would be entered as the above mentioned F2. Your Aspire appears to be a desktop and I suspect F2 will suffice.

Enter the Password or use reset option.

Remove ALL media, DVD, CD, USB. Unplug, remove battery, plug in, reboot. Try a system restore/recovery. At boot tap ALT+F-10 repeatedly.

Dear Friend,

If after Acer logo password, you might have to removed the battery, and press power button for like 30 to 45 seconds to reset memory and battery.
If you are reffering to windows password, (for Windows XP) press CTRL+ ALT + DEL about two to three times (all together) then, use Administrator as username and not password.

dont have to change any...connect s-video lead and press fn + the f key that has an icon of monitor on it (little square box)
for instance mine is f2 so I would press fn +f2 (not fn then f2 ,,fn and f2 together)
for most hp the f key is f4...
so you press togethher once and you have signal to tv ..press again you have signal on tv and pc press again and its back to pc only

tried to remove the harddrive and boot and press f2.
if this is working, it's look like your harddrive is dead.

but if this isnot working (still same problem), remove the dvd, wireless card (from the back of the unit) and try again.
if still not working, Motherboard is bad.
