I have a saeco royal my machine is grinding beans but will not stop

Your question is not right.
Grinder stops on its own in 16 to 18 seconds (times out).
It may not be grinding beans an spinning free because the beans are not feeding.
You may have used oily beans or set the grind fineness at very fine powder like. This powder like fineness also clogs the grinder..
You need to clean the grinding chamber and the ground coffee outlet.

Tip

Espresso/coffee not coming out

If you are having a problem with your espresso/coffee machine with water coming out of the nozzle of your espresso/coffee machine or there is a smaller amount of water then usual that you notice coming out of the nozzle area, locate a pin or a sewing needle and clean the nozzle head with the pin or sewing needle. This actually happens due mostly to the grind level of the beans that most people have there unit set on. When you first get your machine there are actually no problems grinding your beans to the finest setting but as time goes on these small grinds end up building up and eventually clogging the nozzle head due to the fineness of the grind and the oil that is found in coffee beans. This also may require more then one cleaning with the pin or sewing needle on the nozzle head depending on how fine the grinds are that you use in your machine. All espresso/coffee machines should have this done often especially if you are used to a finely ground coffee. The simpler solution would be to turn down the grind setting but preferably more people set there unit to the highest grind setting thinking there will be a difference in the taste or strength or robustness of the coffee or espresso. If the beans are not ground at the maximum setting by turning the fineness of the grind down you not only save yourself the amount of time to clean the nozzle head with a pin or needle. You also prevent clogs of this finely ground amount of coffee from backing up in your water path within the unit as well. If the fine grounds are not removed in this manner eventually you can cause damage to the machines water pump as well.
Thanks again
Rick
As you can see from other customers replys this does work very well at alleviating this clog issue in the nozzle head

Talea ring the grinder will not stop gringing

The Talea model is with a Ceramic grinder system. This can happen when the grinder outlet is clogged with coffee grounds. Fresh beans cannot enter the grinder as the outlet is clogged. Remember, the grinder in any machine is a grinder. It does not shovel the coffee grounds out and clean the outlet when it is clogged.
1- Check if the grind setting is too fine (powder like). If so change the setting to coarse. Fully automatic machines do not need fine grind. Keep the grind fineness like the table slat grain.
2- Check if the beans are dark roast and oily. Oily beans are a slow poison for any fully automatic machine. Change the beans to Non oily medium roast type.

Problem with espresso machine

make sure your coffee grind is not too fine. try a coarser grind. imagine two bucket, one with fine sand and one with gravel. the water will travel faster through the gravel. if this works then slowly make the grind finer until creme returns on your espresso. also try descaling the machine.

My machine will only run a couple of seconds then stops. the lights flash a little faster than normal and it beeps

I think your coffee is ground too finely. I have been enjoying my machine for over two months and today it wouldn't complete the brew and started beeping. The only variable that has changed is the grind of the coffee, which I had ground at Whole Foods. The grind is very fine, much finer than the grind I get at my local grocery store, Kroger's. I tried the coffee I had left from Kroger's and it worked normally. I then tried the coffee from Whole Foods with the very fine grind and it stopped and started beeping.

Saeco machine grinder

Due to the use the grinding burrs are slightly move and wire out. So I advice you to move only one max two step to more fine coffee grinding from the one you have and try the coffee.
The test you have to do is that for about 30 cc of coffee the time that the coffee will run should be about 20 to 22 seconds. If the coffee more faster you need more fine grinding. If the coffee run more slower than 28 sec you need more gross coffee grinding.
Good luck

Mazzer luigi super jolly

Easiest way to set the grind on the super jolly is to remove the beans, turn towards fine until you can barely move the middle stem in the grind chamber, then turn towards course about 12-14 notches on the grinding adjuster(not numbers but notches between numbers). If you still cannot get a fine grind and it is not a brand new grinder replace burrs.
